This clear-cut utility lets you restore lost files without bothering with disk-system details. Using Recover My Files' convenient interface, you will have no difficulty sorting files and choosing multiple items to recover. The program supports most common graphic, document, archive, e-mail, database, and financial file types, as well as others, such as MP3s. The Preview window displays text, images, and MS Office files, as well as archive contents. Recover My Files searches for just-deleted files or files stripped of their Windows-file reference information. You can focus your search on particular file types and cut search time with special options, such as starting with a specific sector, skipping to the ends of found files, or searching disk sectors instead of clusters. Unfortunately, the program doesn't estimate time remaining in an ongoing job. It does, however, offer built-in CD- and DVD-burning support, and you can run it from a floppy disk or a CD without touching the hard drive. Though it's difficult to fully assess Recover My Files' capabilities, as the demo disables saving, it seems like a solid choice for nonprofessionals.Publisher's description

Version: Recover My Files Data Recovery 3.9.8.5848
Cons: I think this app has a major flaw! I was trying to simply get back a deleted file and I paid for their app and next thing you know, it and it crashed my computer and I couldn't even boot after that.. I had to use another app to get my data back, how Ironic is that? I asked for my money back. Doubt i'll get it.

Version: Recover My Files Data Recovery 3.9.8.5848
Pros: Many good reviews about this software led me to download. Marketing... Just about the only positive word I can say about this application..
Cons: Let me explain what my situation is (was) and I'll tell you why you should go else ware and download superior apps.
I recently lost 300GB+ of MP3s and as you can imagine I was devastated.. Years of Music instantly vanished from my computer and My Music drive was now RAW.. Every time I would plug it in to my Vista machine: "This Hard Drive Must be Formated".. Searching for recovery software led me to "Recover My files".. It did find files although after the 62 hour scan had completed, most of my MP3 files were showing less than 10kb and all renamed things like "recovered MP3_4823".. Before I restored I thought I should check out more about this software.. I ended up here, on Downloads.com (Cnet) reading reviews as you are now and found a few gems that pointed me to some other options.. Better options.. "File Recover for Windows" by Seagate, and "GetMyData" by Runtime.. Both scanned my RAW NTFS drive in about 4 hours and not only did they retain my original file names, they also retained my file structure.. A godsend when trying to reorganize GBs of MP3s.. I highly recommend both programs and just as FYI.. Was recovering an NTFS drive but did notice that both also support FAT..
I hope you take this advice as I did, and thank you to those of you who posted this information about these other apps in previous posts.. Good luck to everyone.. Losing Data sucks..
