This clear-cut utility lets you restore lost files without bothering you with disk-system details. Using its convenient interface, you will have no difficulty sorting files and choosing multiple items to recover. What's more, the program displays text, images, and MS Office files, as well as contents of archives, in the Preview window. The utility searches for just-deleted files or files stripped of their Windows-file reference information. The program supports most common graphic, document, archive, e-mail, database, and financial file types, as well as others such as MP3s. To focus your search, you can choose to seek only some file types. Search time also can be cut with special options, such as starting with a specific sector, skipping to the ends of found files, or searching disk sectors instead of clusters. The program also offers built-in CD- and DVD-burning support. Unfortunately, it doesn't estimate time remaining in an ongoing job. If you need to, you may execute the utility from a floppy disk or a CD without touching the hard drive. Though it's difficult to fully estimate the capacity of the tool, as saving is disabled, Recover My Files could be a solid choice for nonprofessionals.Publisher's description

Version: Recover My Files Data Recovery 3.92
Pros: Tested in a Laptop that was accidentally reformatted and after that install it the Laptop Recovery Disk. We download the file and it was able to recover almost all the pictures that were lost, and avoid a Divorce ;-)
After see that we can recover the pictures we Bought it.
Cons: Slow process. (5-7 Hours in a 80 GB HD)
Missing an option to save the list of the files that was able to find,in case that you want to recover the same files again you don't need to run the process again. :-(

Pros: I repartitioned and formatted a drive that had become corrupt and inaccessible. I even installed WinXP again on the first partition. Then I discovered the images I had made didn't work. I contacted a data recovery firm that could recover my data, which would cost me about ΓΆΒ?Β¬ 1000,- .Well, my data weren't that important ! (no photographs or other personal data). Then by accident I came across this software. I tried it and it recovered more than 80% . For a lot less than ΓΆΒ?Β¬ 1000,- I decided to register the program. I don't regret it for a split second.
Cons: Yes, it takes hours and hours to scan a 200Gb drive, but when you do it overnight who cares !

"Best file recovery program for consumers"
Pros: Comprehensive instructions on usage, priced right for what it does, much much better at reovery than any other program I've used. I've tried every other shareware program out there on my Maxtor 200 Gig Serial ATA drive, 1 partition, used as a backup drive. Somehow it became unreadable when I rebuilt my system and moved drives around but this shouldn't have affected the drive at all. However, it was virutally unreadable and Windows reported it as being unformatted. I knew my files were there somewhere. I found this program and fired it up and promptly bought it after I saw what it could do. It recovered ALL of my lost files. It gives you the option to copy the files to other media. Right now I'm copying the files to another hard disk so I can reformat the drive again and do RAID 1 on it from now on. Every five years, a great piece shareware/freeware comes out. A good deal go unused and untested. I'm glad I found this jewel. It will save you hundreds of dollars in the long run. This software with GoBack will save you hours of work and heartache. Try it and I guarantee you will buy it without question. I give it a good 8 stars if they were available.
Cons: The program is VERY slow, however, considering what it needs to do and do it right, the speed shouldn't be a factor. Especially when you need to recover files from a drive that has been re-partitioned or formatted. I'm sure the PROS will far outweigh the CONS with this software.
