Version: Recover My Files Data Recovery 3.4
Pros: Win XP suddenly refused to read my USB flash drive, saying the drive was unformatted. I downloaded the demo of this programme and it works okay, recovered most of the 'lost' files on the flash drive, but I couldn't save ANY AT ALL unless I were to buy the full version. However, the programme certainly does what it's supposed to do.
Cons: 1) When recovered, the files didn't retain their original filenames. This wasn't a problem with Word, Excel or .jpg files because of the preview feature, but Powerpoint files cannot be previewed. I had a hard time figuring out which file was which so as to decide whether I wanted to recover it.
2) It recovered most of my 'lost' files but hardly any of the previously deleted files. This was not a problem for me but if you are looking for deleted files, this programme probably won't do it for you.
3) It doesn't differentiate between 'lost' & 'deleted' files. I had to try remembering which ones I had copies of and which I needed to recover.
4) None of my text (.txt) or application (.exe) files were recovered. No problem with Powerpoint, .jpg, Word, Excel and zip documents, however.
A far superior (and affordable) product would be 'Restorer2000' -- also available on CNet.

Version: Recover My Files Data Recovery 3.4
Pros: The software does a great job of locating the file(s) - however you can't restore it(them) until you pay the license fee - and there is no gaurantee if the file is usable or not, and if the file is not usable - you wasted your money
Cons: The software found the files I needed (quicken financial data) and, after paying the fee I restored them - however the files were too corrupt to be usable.

Version: Recover My Files Data Recovery 3.4
Pros: I wiped out my computer and then transferred everything back to it from my external harddrive...never realizing that some of my recent pictures had not been backed up (so stupid...boy did I learn to double check!). I had already deleted the pictures off of my compact flash card AND took some more pictures afterward, but this program was able to find almost every one of them! It only missed about 40 or so out of close to 500...considering I deleted them and then took more pictures, that's not bad! I highly recommend!
Cons: I've only used it once, but since it recovered almost everything, I don't think I will find any cons if I need to use it again in the future!
