"Great software for long-term study and learning"
Pros: RecallPlus is an excellent program for those who want to study for the long-term. Recallplus is unique because it combines key features, some which are not found in other learning software. There are hundreds of flashcard programs which imitate basic index cards: they contain information on one "side", and when "flipped over" provide the answer on the "other side." I found RecallPlus features a definite "step up" from these programs. The knowledge tree is extremely helpful in organizing and outlining topics and turning the material into cards. Also helpful are the drawing and concept map features, which allows me to easily create study aid cues, diagrams or include pictures. I also found it straightforward to record and add sounds and to associate it with information on a card. RecallPlus also has an additional learning strategy called "spaced repetition" (RecallPlus refers to it as "schedule revision"). "Spaced repetition" is where the review intervals are spaced further apart over time, allowing for more effective long-term learning. Few flashcard type programs utilize this, and even fewer allow for customizing these intervals like RecallPlus allows. All these combination of features really make RecallPlus unique among flashcard programs.
Cons: There are some minor bugs in the program, and some features aren't explained well or simply don't work. At the same time the company is very responsive to users.
