CNET Editors' review
Those looking to promote their blogs and Web sites will find the job made easier with this intuitive utility, despite some strict trial limitations and a feature that didn't always work in our tests.
RSS Submit has a user-friendly look and feel, and the interface is designed to lead you through the submission process. The built-in wizard is a nice touch and it can help first-time users understand how and why to submit RSS feeds and tags to search engines to promote Web sites and blogs.
The tool performed very well during our tests, responding quickly as it automatically fed our info to its list of engines. We ran into a glitch, however, when we attempted to submit our RSS data to a short list of Web sites that require info to be entered manually instead of by the tools automated process. RSS Submit has an auto-fill feature for these types of online forms, but some of our testers weren't able to get this feature to work. Other than that problem, the tool worked well.
The developer mentions the demo version's 12-day trial. Some other limitations worth noting: the demo allows you to submit only three RSS feeds to search engines. Further, not all of the engines and sites on the tool's submission list are activated; the tool will submit to the entire list only after you register. The price tag is a bit steep for a user who has only one Web site or blog, but someone who is very active online, with multiple RSS feeds, may find RSS Submit a worthwhile marketing tool.
