Publisher's description
From R-tools Technology :R-Studio is a comprehensive data-recovery and undelete program. It supports FAT12/16/32, NTFS, NTFS5 (created or updated by Windows 2000), and Ext2FS (Linux) file systems, and recovers files both on local logical and physical disks, as well as on disks on remote computers over networks, even if their partition structures are damaged or deleted. The program can also perform file and partition recovery after Fdisk operations, MBR destruction, FAT damage, and virus infections. Dynamic disk and RAID support are included, as is support for recovering encrypted files, compressed files, and alternative data streams. File or disk content can be viewed and edited in the hexadecimal editor, which supports NTFS file-attribute editing. Flexible parameter settings give you absolute control over data recovering.

Version: R-Studio Data Recovery 2.0
"Fast, accurate and easy data recovery. Definetely a must."
Pros: After fighting a whole week with a stuborn badly fragmented 30GB HD with MBR and FAT destoyed, dealing with a bunch of so called "data recovery software" with the only result of a disk full of references to clusters and sectors but no structure at all.
Then came across R-Studio and in 60 minutes I had my HD structure back again. From that point, recovering my important files was just a snap simply by selecting them from the directory tree.
It works silently and it's very accurate, being fragmentation not a big deal...amazing!
It saved me lots of money, time and health.

Version: R-Studio Data Recovery 2.0
Pros: R-Studio NTFS is a great product. My laptop crashed and it had been about 2 weeks since my last backup. XP Pro would not boot into safe mode, Windows Recovery Console could not repair the MBR...it was looking really grim. That is where R-Studio comes into play. I was able to recover ALL data since my last backup. After recovering my data, I tried to format using a low-level formatting tool from the drive manufacturer. No success?the drive was fried. Bottom line ? if you need to do some data recovery, add this product to your arsenal of tools.
Cons: There was no readily available information on using R-Studio Agent Emergency on a bootable CD. I sent an email to support and they said there is an image that can be downloaded if requested.

Version: R-Studio Data Recovery 2.0
"WARNING: Program 'forgets' it is registered!! Don't lose your code!!"
Cons: The R-Studio file-restoration suite suddenly failed to behave as if registered; my copy of my registration information was lost in a corrupted file, so the program is useless to me. I requested my code through the R-Tools website. They denied me, citing the end-user agreement's 180-day time limit on technical service. WARNING: This company counts as "technical service" the provision of a registration code to a legitimate, registered user who might lose the code in a corrupt file -- an odd viewpoint for a provider of file restoration software! I would argue that emailing a code is not technical service, but a customer service, not to mention just plain good business sense. This is a costly program--a registered user should be treated as such. Shame on you, R-Tools!

Version: R-Studio Data Recovery 2.0
"With just one use the program justified the purchase price of $50"
Pros: This data recovery software is great! I pulled dozens of gigabytes of unspoiled data from long since dead hard drives.
Cons: Unknown.
