Publisher's description
From Peter B. Clements :QuickPar is a utility for creating Parity Volumes using the Reed Solomon algorithm. Parity Volumes may be used to verify that a set of files have not been corrupted, or to reconstruct damaged files (providing that you have a sufficient quantity of Parity Volumes to match the missing or damaged files). QuickPar uses the PAR version 2.0 specification.
What's new in this version:
- A code change in 0.9 that resulted in slower operation for some users has been adjusted.
- Error messages in the verification window now have a tooltip to display the full error if it is long.

Version: QuickPar 0.9.1
Pros: I haven't been on Usenet in about five or six years. If I had this program then, I never would have left. Multi-volume archives that can be repaired or reconstructed instead of having to re-download entire sections is fantastic! The dread of seeing corrupted file segments is gone.
Cons: It can take a while to repair a file, and I had to go through all the Par files to make sure it fixed all the problems. But overall, there is very little to criticize.

Version: QuickPar 0.9.1
Pros: Easy, powerful, and extremely customizable.

Version: QuickPar 0.9.1
"It does the job quickly; it is a bit ungainly to use."
Pros: I works correctly to rebuild fragmented rar binaries using par files.
Cons: It needs some refinements: It would be useful to be able to filter out extraneous files to make searching a directory faster. Enabling the user to select his own default view, say "details", would smooth the operation considerably.
Summary: I use it, but wish I had more control over the defaults.

Version: QuickPar 0.9.1

Cons: not found any yet
