Transfer, copy, and move files quickly and securely.

TeraCopy is a free utility designed to copy files faster and more secure. It automatically switches between synchronous and asynchronous modes to improve the speed of file transfers. File verification: TeraCopy can test files after copy to ensure they are identical. This is done by comparing hashes of source and target files. Error recovery: in a case of a copy error, TeraCopy will try to recover and, in the worse case scenario, will simply skip the file, not terminating the entire transfer.

Create and verify checksum files: all popular formats are supported, including MD5, SHA, RIPEMD, Tiger, Whirpool and xxHash. Interactive file list: TeraCopy shows the failed file transfers and lets you fix the problem and recopy only the problem files. You can also remove unnecessary files or folders to reduce the transfer time. Informative progress bar: a speed graph inside the progress bar visually indicates problematic and skipped files using different colors. Shell integration: TeraCopy can completely replace the Explorer copy and move functions, enabling you to work with files as usual. You can also quickly set as target any folder open in Explorer.

Not really a fan now, as allot interesting are missing

Pros
Was a better tool few years back. Really came up with a revolutionary copying speed in past days. Data copying was pretty smooth and reliable.
Cons
Didn't change with market competition. Lacks allot of interesting features which is provided by GS RichCopy 360 to make task pretty easy. Data crashes occur frequently. Performance is also downgraded as compared to GS RichCopy 360.
Summary
I am no more a fan of TeraCopy from the day I used GS richCopy 360. So I would strongly recommend everyone to use GS RichCopy 360 for robust and reliable results.
Has never crashed on me.

Pros
Allows verification of file's moved or copied. If for whatever reason it show's a file read error, you can use clean up (which removes the file names of successful copies) then do it again, without having to start over. For me it has always checked good if I had to do it again due to a file read error. I've been using this since Win XP, now I'm using it on Win 10 Insider Evaluation copies & so far no problem's yet!
Cons
The free version work's like the paid version except for one minor detail. With the paid version you are able to safe location's of where you moving file's to if you use them repeatedly where as free does not.

I believe the ones that are having problems with it crashing that its there OS not the program. Try to reinstall Windows.

Fast, works as expected, faster than standard Windows Copy.

Dialogue box that opens gives user a choice; maybe that can be over=ridden in settings (that slows the copy process). No other 'cons' I can think of (except do not accept the 'free offers of software' in the CNET Download.com installer (better to go to the Author's web-site directly, and download from there, to avoid 'spurious' software like 'MalwareProtectionLive' which is (a) useless (b) a con ( If you find you have that, remove it ).

Just what I was looking for to move videos from flash drives to computer and move large backups from hard drive to backup disk. And I installed it where I can still use the Windows cut/copy/paste as well as the teracopy's interface.

1. Crashed 10 seconds after I installed it. 2. Took forever to calculate a folder size. 3. 10 times slower than Windows to copy a large folder. 4. Interface sucks. 5. Required reboot of server to uninstall.

Integrates seamlessly with Windows file system. Far more powerful than Windows Explorer. Can cue from multiple source folders into one destination folder.

Random crash / error, but not enough to warrant uninstall. Window stays on top, but is minimizable.
Summary
I recently had to do some shuffling of data between two 1 TB portable HDDs and my laptop HDD, because I accidentally deleted everything on one of the portables. To recover the lost HDD, I used Undelete 360 (I left a review on that, too) to transfer the recovered files to the other portable. Not enough space on the second portable, so I needed a way to make sure that the backup was good. Microsoft SyncToy could have done the job, but it doesn't seem to offer any kind of file verification (I'm no expert). TeraCopy offers CRC checking as part of the file copy process, and it works pretty well. TeraCopy, at least the free version, doesn't seem to be 100% stable, however. Last night, I left it to copy 800 GB of recovered files from one portable HDD to another, with file verification, and woke up this morning to find it completed with zero errors. When I went to transfer the 320 GB back to the second HDD that was originally there, I kept getting errors and crashes. Odd. Still, a great little tool, although I'm not sure if $19.95 for purchase of the full version is worth it. "There is no such thing as a foolproof system. Someone will make a better fool, tomorrow." @LoneWolffe
