This program reproduces the graphics and sounds of the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? quiz show. Although the interface looks polished and intuitive once you're playing, the Start Quiz tab in the left, top corner is not exactly prominent. The questions focus mainly on movies and TV series, which can seem a bit monotonous if you're not into entertainment trivia. People who buy the registered version can download additional quiz books from the publisher's site, though right now there's only one new book listed. Although Pub Quiz Machine lets you play against time, you can't change how long you get. The program appeals to trivia fans, however, and may even provide a cheap way for a bar or cafe to introduce a quiz night.
From Rorschach Software:
How good is your general knowledge? Why not put it to the test by using this professional pub-quiz software based on the familiar 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' format. The rules are simple: Just answer as many questions as you can before you run out of lives and lifelines. Like its television inspiration, Pub Quiz Machine 2008 pits you against trivia question after trivia question, and with more than 6,000 questions in 50 categories, it's unlikely you'll ever run out of new challenges. To make sure you're never asked the same question twice, you can also download more questions from the Web site whenever they're available. Version 1.0.1 adds over 1000 new questions.
The game keeps me interested for a long time without me getting bored, it is challenging and fun.
It would be nice to compete against other players.
I really enjoy the product as it keeps the mind sharp and the game is not "child's play". It is also really nice that new questions are available for downloading periodically so that you don't repeat the same questions over and over again.
I don't know whether it's just me that's slow or whether the rules should be a bit more clear regarding the questions after the time is up etc. Please help.
