This program regulates processes to optimize terminal server performance, but takes expert skill to properly configure. ProcessGovernor's simple interface makes every setting easily accessible. The program regulates individual processes to determine which utilize CPU time. You easily set priorities for particular processes. This application's help file offers minimal guidance. You must have advanced knowledge of processes utilized by the applications operated over your network. Available or running processes aren't listed. To create a rule you must use the process name listed in the Task Manager. ProcessGovernor doesn't regulate hard drive access, network connectivity, or many other performance-slowing activities. Advanced users wishing to get optimum performance for their terminal servers will find this application helpful, but only as part of a comprehensive solution.

Publisher's description

From SYMPLASSON Informationstechnik :

ProcessGovernor regulates and improves the processing performance of workstations, file and terminal servers. It prevents applications or drivers from claiming all of the CPU time so that all active applications can continue running. By automatically reducing the priority of a busy process following preset rules, the user can continue to use his computer as if nothing else would be happening. If the busy process happens to be the one that the user is working with, he can at least freely use another program and do something else in the meantime.ProcessGovernor is essential on multi-user systems as terminal servers. A terminal server is a Windows server that allows many users to simultaneously work on one machine. Thus a process from one user can exploit the CPU's time to the point where the other users cannot continue working. It need not be anything hostile, the user could simply be printing something, for example.

Version 1.1 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.
