Publisher's description of Process Terminator
From JC Software:Information such as CPU allocation and memory usage are readily available on the program simple-to-navigate user interface. Caution should be used with certain processes which are necessary for the stable running of the operating system. If a certain application is not responding and a reboot is the only option, then this program will be very useful. The program makes it easy to find where a suspect process is residing, making Trojan/Spyware hunting a whole lot easier.

- Version reviewed: Process Terminator 1
Greatly improve your process-killing ability with this freeware utility. Process Terminator's simple list-and-button interface is immediately operable by intermediate to advanced users. Most won't even crack open the simple four-paragraph Help screen.
Operating Process Terminator is intuitive and simple. On start, the app loads the list of running processes. Selecting a process displays its start time, total CPU time utilized, maximum physical memory used and amount allocated, thread count, handle count, and whether the Process UI is responding. Double-clicking a listed name opens the folder where the process is located. Any process is easily killed with a single button click, but the app won't warn users if killing a particular process will destabilize your system.
Process Terminator is a freeware tool that intermediate to advanced users should keep on hand and ready to use.

Version: Process Terminator 1
"Does not Improve on Task Manager Very Much"
Pros: I like the interface, and it works OK without using resources...but not a powerful tool.
Cons: Usually cannot help with freezes that Task Manager locks on. If you like the interface, then it is just a good alternate tool. Task Killer would be more effective,
Summary: If you like the interface, then this will work OK for you. It will not really unfreeze any problems that the Task Manager cannot already unfreeze -- in my experience.

Cons: just another version of programs which take control of your machine back

Version: Process Terminator 1
Pros: Nothing; doesn't stop hung programs.
Cons: Doesn't work. I've been trying to debug an application that hangs and can't be stopped in the Task Manager. Process Terminator couldn't stop it either.
Summary: When the application I describe above hangs, I can't launch any other applications. They appear as running tasks in the Task Manager but the application windows never appear. I ran Process Terminator, then the application that hangs. When it hung... read more >>
