Publisher's description
From Avanquest Software :PowerDesk Pro 7 is a luxury edition of a file manager and offers more features and functionality than the limited file manager offered in Windows or other file management software. It completely replaces Windows Explorer, giving users a wide array of tools to search, edit, delete, move, sort, view and copy files, including those found on digital cameras or MP3 music players.

Version: PowerDesk Pro 7.0.1.1
"just enough upgrade to run on vista"
Pros: ... not any new goods
I'd say the dual pane feature but, it tends to forget to keep the tree pane scrolled to the folder you're looking atCons: It seems they only did enough so it'd work on Vista. Version 6pro worked fine but somehow 7pro falls flat. The last time I started it up it refused to run saying the serial number was invalid. Unless they really upgrade it, this should be freeware.!
Summary: I'm sorry I paid for the upgrade.
But, I have now found another freeware dual-pane q dir that even does ftp. *shrug* -
Version: PowerDesk Pro 7.0.1.1
Pros: 2 panes- love that- nice features of converting to Adobe, converting pictures, sync features
Cons: It was a CPU hog- it started to error my system. I can't seem to get rid of it- it still shows up in menus. Not sure how to dump it.
Summary: It started strong and ended weak. I can't recommend this to anyone. Xplorer2 is a nice substitute.

"A once great file manager sadly showing its age."
Pros: Dual pane windows, excellent search tool, highly modifiable tool bar and launch bar. The file viewer is very important in my work. I also liked the Sync function.
Cons: They haven't kept up with the times. The file viewer got worse in the change from ver. 4 thru 7. They do not support 64 bit O/S's and there is no support for Win 7. The times I tried to use tech support I received short FAQ quality answers.
Summary: From my correspondence with Avanquest I get the impression that they see PowerDesk as a cash cow and give it inadequate engineering support. I was using PD on Win XP, migrated to Vista and then to Win 7. I experienced situations where when working... read more >>

Version: PowerDesk Pro 7.0.1.1
Pros: Loved it since version 4. Upgraded to 6.0.4.2 and still like it, however...
Cons: Their upgrade policy (claims that 7 is NOT an upgrade, but a totally new product) and is priced at full retail. NO WAY!
