Portable applications seem to be all the rage right now and rightfully so. With them, you can launch your own, customized applications from any computer. Firefox Portable brings that freedom to the Firefox browser.
Firefox Portable lets you take your very own customized version of Firefox with you for use on-the-go. The application launches from any kind of USB file sharing device. We saved the program to our thumbdrive and immediately launched Firefox. From there, we customized it by adding new tools and bookmarks. Using the password manager, we also saved our passwords. When we ejected our thumbdrive and plugged it into a different computer, we were able to launch Firefox, complete with all of our customizations, and browse the Web as usual.
If you keep a lot of bookmarks and passwords, and want to take them wherever you go, this is the freeware tool for you. We highly recommend Firefox Portable for all user levels.

From PortableApps.com :Portable Firefox is a fully functional package of the Mozilla Firefox web browser optimized for use on a USB key drive. It has some specially-selected optimizations to make it perform faster and extend the life of your USB key as well as a specialized launcher that will allow most of your favorite extensions to work as you switch computers. It will also work from a CDRW drive (in packet mode), ZIP drives, external hard drives, some MP3 players, flash RAM cards and more (Note: It will not run from read-only media like a CD-R, but Portable Firefox Live will).
Version 2.0 Release Candidate 3 may include unspecified updates, enhancements or bug fixes.

"Seems good, but there are alternatives"
Pros: This looks good but just how does it �extend the life of your USB key� is it that it doesn�t read/right to the flash drive a lot?? Maybe Torpark is a better choice for a flash drive web browser - I�m a big fan of Torpark � I haven�t tried this version of portable FireFox so I can�t comment on it. But I can say some good things about torpark,
#1 it is firefox based (like this app)
#2 it�s portable
#3 it�s fast
#4 it�s �secure� (I have secure emphasized because who ever makes torpark says so but I don�t know just how �secure� it is, - if it�s �secure� because it doesn�t save cookies then I guess it�s secure)
and #5 you can save bookmarks.
I know I should be reviewing this program but I thought I should mention Torpark as an alternative porta-browser.
