Though effective against pop-ups and handy for erasing tracks, PopThis Professional won't eliminate all advertising that invades your desktop. Designed as an Internet Explorer toolbar, the interface is simple and self-explanatory. You can toggle blocking directly within the browser by clicking the button or pressing a hot key. To allow pop-ups from a particular site on future visits, just click a button on the toolbar while browsing and the address will be added to the Friend List. Besides blocking pop-ups, the utility will clean surfing detritus such as cookies, your history, and cached files, even automatically erasing them when you quit Internet Explorer if you wish. However, PopThis Professional doesn't cope with Web nuisances such as banner and floating ads. It's probably a fine choice, however, if simple pop-ups are your primary concern.
