Publisher's description
From PolderbitS Software :PolderbitS Sound Recorder and Editor helps you transfer tapes, LPs, live performances, Internet radio, TV, DVD, or any other sound source to your hard drive. The software helps protect your valuable recordings--just set the sound source, the recording quality, and volume, then start recording. The Editor automatically splits your wave recording into multiple tracks, and you can trim the start and end of each track or use fade-in and fade-out functions. You can save recordings in WAV or MPEG (MP3) media formats, and then use your standard CD-burner software to burn your recordings to CD. It includes a click and crackle filter for cleaning vinyl records, a noise filter for cassette-tape recordings, and an equalizer to enhance the sound quality of all recordings. Version 5 features new automatic track splitter options and support for ID3V1 MP3-tags. The software is available in English, German, Spanish, and Dutch. Version 5 build 94 is ready for Windows Vista

Pros: This thing is fantastic, user friendly, it'll do anything. You have 14 days trial of full access to ALL its features, I needed only 30 minutes and fell in love with it and bought it. very reasonable price considering all that it does.

"One can record and filter sounds, then COMPARE it to the original ..."
Pros: I like comparing sounds I changed using the noise filter, pop & crackle feature, equalizer, etc., then comparing it to the original: I can either keep the changed sound or the original...or make further changes.
Cons: I find the editor is too small for my purposes [although there is magnification].

Version: PolderbitS Sound Recorder and Editor 5 build 94
Pros: -Records as it promises with good sound quality
-Fairly easy to use and user friendly
Cons: -After your 14 day trial, it does cost $34.95
-Does not record your music as .mp3 files. It only records in .wav files as you are recording music and it takes up VERY MUCH memory per song as you are recording. This is a big flaw in the product to me. For instance, a typical song in .mp3 format should only take up about 3MB for your average 3-4 minute song. But I notice that as I was recording with this, an average 3-4 minute song would take up like 50MB or more of computer space per song you record. I also had a major problem burning these files because Windows Media Player said it didn't recognize the size of the file and could not burn it. I did manage to burn it with Yahoo Music Engine which is an alternative media player to WMA, but that was still a hassle.

"WOOT WOOT!!!!! FINALLY FOUND WHAT I WANTED!!!!!!"
Pros: This program is awesome. I'm using the trial version to transfer some old tapes to my PC and it's doing a perfect job. The interface is easy once you take the little bit of time required to learn it.Anybody wanting to transfer older formats of music to your computer and CD's has found what they're looking for.
Cons: Nothing at all. Just play with it for 5 minutes and you'll be recording, editing and saving all your old music.

"Functional,stabile and reliable."
Pros: That one was the most functional, stabile and reliable of the recording - editing programs that I tried. I turned many LPs and tapes to CD without any real problem. It has no limitations during the trial, and also no bells and rings. If I would buy one program in this category it would be this one.
