From Perl Express Group :A free integrated development environment (IDE) for Perl with multiple tools for writing and debugging your scripts. It features multiple CGI scripts for editing, running, and debugging; multiple input files; full server simulation; queries created from an internal Web browser or query editor; test MySQL, MS Access scripts; interective I/O; directory window; code library; and code templates. Perl Express allows you to set environment variables used for running and debugging script. It has a customizable code editor with syntax highlighting, unlimited text size, printing, line numbering, bookmarks, column selection, a search-and-replace engine, multilevel undo/redo operations. Version 2.5 adds command line and bug fixes.

"I highly recommend this software"
Pros: perl express is really good software, it's a great looking and very functional IDE. impressive. i would recomend this for someone who is good with perl, or for a novice with a good companion perl programming book.
Cons: the only negative is that the documnetation and help files are not terribly helpful.

Pros: The best thing about it is its unique data type. Hope more advance version will come shortly.
Cons: there is nothing to be disliked in the PE 2.5

"Overall a Great IDE for PERL"
Pros: It's a great free IDE. It's very easy to install. It's got a nice editor, and like a true IDE, program execution can take place in the IDE. It highlights properly, and does most of what you would expect.
Cons: The debugger does not work, or works in such a terrible fashion as to be unusable. This is not a major distraction, as I only need to use it from time to time. It also does not do code folding, but that's not too big a deal.
Summary: This is really the second best PERL IDE. The best one is Eclipse which is also free. I used this product for about 6 months before switching to Eclipse. Let me warn you that setting up the Eclipse IDE to properly work with PERL takes some work. ... read more >>
