Pazera Free FLV to AVI Converter is an absolutely free software utility able to convert flash videos (SWF, FLV) into MPG or AVI. FLV files are commonly used on the Internet by YouTube, Google Video, and other video services. These files are not supported by Windows Media Player and other popular media players. To display FLV video you need to convert that file into more reliable format, such as AVI or MPG.
The application allows you to set many parameters used by encoder: audio and video codec, audio and video bitrate, fps, sampling frequency, resolution, and other. "LOADED WITH TROJANS AND MALWARE; YOU ARE WARNED!"

Did an AVG routine scan after loading and found at least 5 unauthorized add-ons and plug-ins as well as 5 trojan horses. Upon removal, AVG again popped up to help in a removal Pazera was resisting. This software has been fully hijacked and is extremely dangerous.
Summary
I wouldn't have taken the time to join CNET if I wasn't very concerned about other who may consider downloading this software. It is full of trojans, malware and resists removal. Don't mess with it!

A fully functional program that will convert full movies. Unlike some here (Xilisoft), it doesn't limit you to 3 minutes.

This is one program I'd definitely purchase. The software developer realizes that a program needs to be used and tested by a person before they would even consider buying it. You cannot get the feel of a program in 3 minutes.

Trend Micro Office Scan pops up a virus warning at beginning of installation procedure. I have cancelled installation.

"Great for the technologically challenged"

I've used a previous version n converted 100's of videos - just using the default settings. Does a great job. Kind of a processor hog, but I'm running a 1.6 ghz processor, so I let it convert overnight! This version has many more formats to convert to. You have the OPTION to not install the crap people are complaining about - un-check a few boxes and click "DECLINE" a couple times and you get what you want without the crap you don't want! Easy enough for me - Great program for FREE!

If you don't pay attention during the install, you get extra crap you don't want... the guy gotta make $$ somehow!

There are no pros to this application, This stupid review dialog required I enter something. I would recommend the CNET programmers allow 0 character answers for cases like this.
Cons
This application made modification to my set of home pages in Chrome and added plugins to my browser. I immediately uninstalled it, removed the plugins, removed the links it added to my home pages, and started a virus scan.

"Lack of content--"Permission denied""

Seems to be well made and has many options allowing for a variety of different conversions.
Cons
None with the program itself...just the complete lack of convertible content on the internet these days. the files I've found all seem to be freely distributed, but you can not change the format rendering the files unusable.

It did a fine job of converting a video to mp3 (even if it was technically a lossy conversion)
Cons
I wasn't notified or given an option about two stowaway programs that installed alongside the video converter. One was a SUREGUARD PRIVACY DETECTOR or something similar. It tried to tell me that google docs was a potential threat. Another was a CHROMESPEEDUP nonsense that claims to speed up your page loads, but was most likely also spyware/adware.
I immediately removed the extensions using Chrome's extension manager and I removed all three programs using the Windows Program Manager. If I need to rip audio from a video in the future I will find another tool, or stick to googling tutorials for programs I trust like Audacity or Avidemux.Summary
It does what says, but it's loaded with unadvertised spyware.
