This privacy utility is a file-history and browser-trace eliminator demo that doesn't delete anything. Privacy Control's interface is certainly clean and professional. Functions and options are easily found and implemented. There are eight categories of files to scan with more than 270 items listed. There is no method to select or deselect all, even within a category. Users are stuck clicking checkboxes one by one or sticking to the program's default selection.
Once you've set your options, you just click a button to start scanning. Privacy Control quickly scans your system to find the items selected. A helpful list of found items is displayed. With a double-click you can preview items, or check boxes to remove items from the list. Clicking Erase then deletes all checked items. At least in theory. The demo won't allow you to actually delete items. There is no method to check how well the items are removed by either the normal delete method or the advanced shred option.
We like Privacy Control's speed and number of items scanned. We found the demo limitation unacceptable. Many programs in this genre allow a select type of file deletion to prove the program's capability. Nevertheless, users looking for a professional privacy trace eliminator might find the very good scan speed enough reason to register this demo.

Cons: Ran a scan/clean up with Paretologics Privacy controls it found lots of files and erased them easily.Straight after I ran a clean with Ccleaner, and Ccleaner found another 8.5 MB.Uninstalled "Privacy Controls"

"Help - They don't know what they're doint"
Pros: Not much to like
Cons: I bought ParentoLogic Privacy Controls. I ran the full scan and it identified many, many files ... 66,000. Before I deleted them, I sent an email to the company asking for clarifiction because I didn't want to delete the file - just the reference.
Well, over several days I received emails from 3 different techs. Finally Kyle told me that every was fine and it was okay to press "Remove". Well, fortunately I didn't. About 2 hours later I received another email from a different person who said, in effect, "Hold On". We are checking on this.
So I sent them more info and this morning received an email that I am being bumped up to a higher level tech. Oh good, another person.
Based on what I have found so far, I wouldn't recommend the product. I don't like getting passed along from one person to another AND they may be giving out bad answers.

Pros: To begin, the interface is clean and is really good and was the thing which struck me initially.
Besides it does a good job cleaning your traces. It supports and scans quite a number of areas.
And beyond that it has got an advanced shredding option, a feature which makes the app. more appropriate for all those looking for a complete privacy tool.
To summarize this utility is perfect for those who want to keep their privacy more 'private'
Cons: Now these types of tools/utlities are many. And to say, no tool is perfect/complete.
Here, I feel, support to more areas for scanning and cleaning the traces would have made the app even more apt.
And I hope this will be done in the next version.
