This extensive suite of password-recovery utilities will crack just about any popular business application, but its price will deter home and small-office users. Paraben's Decryption Collection Enterprise Edition comes with 30 cracking programs, including ones for MS Office, ACT, Acrobat, and 1-2-3. It offers several attack methods, from dictionary to brute-force, including Xieve optimization. It performed well in our tests, cracking the password unbreakable for a Word document in several seconds. It didn't slow down our system while breaking a password in the background. As with most such programs, the trial version cracks only small passwords; in this case, it's two characters or fewer, so the demo won't be of much practical use. Paraben isn't kidding around about this being an enterprise edition; the $495 price tag rules it out for everyone but the IT staffers in its target audience.Publisher's description
