From Palm :Palm Desktop is for use with all 3Com connected organizers, for users with PCs running Windows 95/98/NT 4.0. This version of Palm Desktop features an improved date book application, a new file link for automatic synchronization, and better HotSync technology.
Note: This is a warning for users upgrading from PalmPilot Desktop 2.0/2.1 with HotSync Manager 2.0, or from Pilot Desktop 1.0 with HotSync Manager 1.0/1.1. Be aware that any conduit applications that you have installed on your desktop PC to synchronize with other PIM (personal information manager) applications may no longer work. If the conduit relies on HotSync Manager version 1.x or 2.0, you will need to contact the manufacturer of the conduit software to obtain a version compatible with HotSync Manager 3.0 before installing the Palm Desktop 3.0software. This does not affect users who synchronize only to the Palm Desktop application.
