CNET Editors' review
With a smorgasbord of tools for working with digital photos and creating illustrations, the latest version of Paint Shop Pro hits the mark. Longtime users may be disoriented by the transformation. The once-cluttered UI now features a straightforward, sleek interface that offers more automatic options for the most common photo-editing and organizing tasks. Novices will rejoice about the new Learning Center that provides clear instructions on the tool they're using. Unfortunately, to install the trial version and test Paint Shop Pro's powers, you need to create a Corel account on the company's Web site.
In return for registering, this program offers about every tool you'll need for illustrating and perfecting your digital photos. Besides the standard assortment of drawing implements, you'll find such new additions as the Smart Photo Fix and Makeover Tools. New tools and palette options help users quickly and easily retouch the subjects in their photos, remove objects, and add special effects. The all-encompassing feature set makes Paint Shop Pro a great bet for pros or anyone else craving a fine degree of control over digital images.

"I lost my animation shop"
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0

The unit has worked fine uptil noo!
Cons
I lost animation shop after a reboot! What can I do to get it back?
-
"Crash Happy"
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
Don't know, it crashes so often it's unuseable.
Cons
Unstable, constant crashes.
Summary
Repeated installations including those via Corel tech support all result in the same situation, constant crashes. This program, on my computer, is so unstable it's almost worthless. I have a new Win 7 64 bit system with plenty of power and other programs run great. I'm done with Corel. Tried their video editing program with the same results. Cyberlink's PowerDirector 9 Ultra video editing program works great on my computer. Stay away from Corel products. Poor products. poor tech support.

"Good photoeditor"
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
You have to pay a little bit more for this compared with Adobe Elements 4, but you get what you pay for. Many features and logical.
Cons
Do not buy the upgrade version, Corel support did not fix the problem you probably can expect. Ashampoo PowerUp XP2 startup modul saved my computer so I can use PSP 10.

"Tremendous value for money"
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
I've been using PSP since version 4, then 5,6,7,8 and then 9, and Photoshop since version 3, upto 7. The bottom line is that PSP is easier to install, easier to use, takes much less space, uses much less resources, has more intuitive user interface, and almost the same set of features that Photoshop has, yet it is about 6th the price. Nothing more to be said.

"very good ART tool as well as sharpening photographs"
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
Gives the ARTIST a 16 million paint palette and several types of brushes and overlay effects. Includes a brilliant KALEIDOSCOPE tool to make various symmetrical art graphics - some of the results look like Arabic tiles and others like porcelain plates. The luminous qualities are fantastic as there are so many variations that can be done to one basic image. I have used them for screensavers, animated videos - used the graphics and photographs in a movie-maker.
Cons
Does not seem to have the range of PAINT geometrical shapes so you need to go to PAINT to do an initial geometrical design and paste into Paintshop Pro X.

"Aggravating changes to the interface"
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
1) Low price; I use a fully-licensed PSP and have always bought the current version.
2) Until now, PSP offered a subset of the graphics tools I need. This was fine for me. I neither want, nor need, Adobe-level tools.
Cons
1) The interface changed. Why? It worked just fine before. Now I must burn time reading help files and trying to figure out how to do simple things.
2) Browse mode changed significantly. Used to be simple, quick. Now it is obtuse and difficult.
3) Product is much slower to launch.
4) I do not embrace "RTFM" as a business model.
Clearly, Corel is pushing PSP toward Adobe Paintshop capabilities. Fine. But, I do not NEED this. If I did, I would buy Adobe.

"lots of options"
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros

You have this tool, that emulates a pallete and you with the cursor mix the color as it they were real paint.
this software is perfect if you work with digital photography
Cons
