"this is just a (buggy) teaser, not freeware"

by ijake on July 21, 2005

Pros: it's ok for very, very basic html editing (this does not include editing tables).

    Cons: BUGGY

sometimes eats your whole document when trying to edit a table. no undo possible then.

    SLOW

takes up to a minute to switch from wysiwyg to html

    BAD PREVIEW

inline preview only for internet explorer. preview for other browsers doesn't always work.

    TEASER

this is not a true freeware but instead a limited test drive for the full product. stop camouflaging try-outs as freeware - you are wasting my time.

    "adware!"

    by k_online on July 1, 2005

Pros: Great software, full of features, and free.

Cons: The developer's website has a button which states "no spyware, no adware, no viruses," which made me feel good about installing this product. What they do NOT mention is that after a period of time the software DOES add an advertising frame unless you purchase the Professional version for $29.99. This information should be disclosed in their FAQ - "diplays ads after a certain period of time unless Professional version is purchased" and let the user decide what tradeoffs he is willing to make. True, this software is free and the ads are text-only (for now!) but the ads are just as annoying as a nag screen - even more so.

    "Unusable (but promising)"

by spoxox on November 17, 2005

Pros: Generally intuitive interface, basic features readily available. This is almost a great product.

Cons: Vanishing pages! I tried v3.0b and 3.0c. Both have this problem. You make changes to a page, and when switching to a new view everything you've done goes away, never to be seen again. Saving the page before switching views didn't help me.

(This is my business. I have created several commercial sites, mostly with Dreamweaver. I'm looking for a straightforward HTML editor to train newbies, and that's why I tried PageBreeze.)

    "Nice, but extremely limited."

    by Effie H on June 26, 2005

Pros: User friendly, easy learning curve, capability to switch between HTML editing and WYSIWYG editing.

Cons: When I first downloaded this program it seemed like a dream come true -- but then my pages frequently began to "disappear." I can view them in the "preview" tab only but the HTML and normal views are blank. I can pull up the same page in other programs and everything is fine, but the page vanishes from view in PageBreeze, never to return. In addition, there seem to be quite a few small bugs in the program that make it difficult to use exclusively -- I have to resort frequently to other editors to complete a job. I hoped that if I purchased the "professional" version the bugs would be eliminated, but it made no difference at all. Tried to contact customer service and received absolutely no response at all. As a result, I can't recommend that anyone purchase this program.

    "A winner"

    by Jemlin1 on June 4, 2005

Pros: I had a chance to try the PageBreeze application and it's great for

quik edits. I normally hand code in textpad and use Dreamweaver for

    the WYSIWYG editor,

and found I can do in PB what I do in DW without having to load 300mb

    of application. :)

I wish I'd have found this editor sooner. for being a small application it packs a punch, and best of all, it doesn't generate lines of irrelavent code, like FP does. It keeps it "clean".

Cons: The bad thing about this program is you cant do "everything" with it. I dont think it was intended to. It's basic and to the point. For the price, I can't think of anything lacking in it!
