Publisher's description of Pacman 2005

From WEBLUNA:

Pacman 2005 is a remake of the famous game of the 1980s: a tiny yellow man must devour all the dots on a level, avoiding his enemies, the ghosts. The game features 50 levels and three game modes, which offer an increasing level of difficulty and the prospect of many hours of play. The ghosts are clever and won't miss following you for a minute if you get too close to them. Bonuses appear at random during the game and could make you invincible or invisible. A level editor is included, so you will easily be able to create your own playing mode in no time. The game is linked directly to the Web site, so you will be able to show your best scores and compare your levels with other players.

  • Version reviewed: Pacman 2005 1.0
This Pac-Man remake strikes us as a strictly average choice, but we must applaud it for providing certain features. In spite of its moniker, Pacman 2005 deviates little from the classic 1980s game in terms of gameplay. The graphics are slightly better, but the primitive sound effects have been left completely intact. This program offers more user-customization options than most old-school arcade knockoffs, allowing you to tweak the game speed, disable the sound effects, and reconfigure the layout of the control keys. We definitely appreciate the inclusion of a level editor but must say that the one-level trial period seems incredibly stingy. As a result, Pacman 2005 is most suitable for users who enjoy creating their own gameboards.
