Publisher's description
From Nitro PDF Software :PDF Download is a Firefox extension that allows to choose whether you want to view a PDF file inside the browser (as PDF or HTML) or you want to download it. This is the right extension for you if you are annoyed to click on a link and then discover that Firefox is loading the Adobe or other PDF plug-in (very heavy) and is trying to show a pdf file directly inside your browser. This extension, every time you click on a link, checks if the target is a pdf file and in this case let you choose what you want to do: open pdf file inside a new tab, download it to the file system or view it as HTML (like Google View as HTML feature).
This version fixes all the annoyances of PDF Download 0.7 but it intercepts only the direct pdf links (like PDF Download 0.6). The other new features introduced in the version 0.7 are still present in 0.7.1
CNET Editor's Note: The Download Now link will prompt a local download of the Firefox extension. To install the extension directly, open the file using your Firefox browser.

Version: PDF Download 0.7.1
"Unobtrusive extension that is useful"
Pros: It is there when you need it. The small file that extends Firefox can be very helpful when you need to access information on PDF files.
Convert-to-HTML is an excellent feature that can be helpful if you don't want to launch Adobe Acrobat or another PDF software.
Cons: Convert-to-HTML is slow at some times. You may want to download the PDF file instead.

Version: PDF Download 0.7.1
"You won't know it's there - and that's why it's great"
Pros: You won't see it until you have to use it, eases the burden of the dreaded PDF file, convert-to-HTML feature lets you forget about the Acrobat Reader
Cons: Convert-to-HTML function takes too long to work; you'd be better off just opening the PDF file.
