This program is designed to compress your large PDF files, but it is unable to deliver its promise. PDF Compress offers a straight-ahead interface with a few standard buttons and input boxes that allow you to select files and modify its information. After selecting the PDF file you want to compress, you can easily view the properties--such as the author, PDF version used, and the last modification date--without doing a thing. In our tests, it didn't perform well and wasn't able to reduce the size of our test documents as we expected. The publisher's description doesn't explicitly tell the compression rate and the algorithm it uses, making it hard for us to vouch for its effectiveness. We even can't restore the compressed PDF files to their original sizes due to lack of a decompression feature. With the flaws mentioned (and despite its freeware status), PDF Compress isn't a good choice for PDF file size reduction.Publisher's description
From BureauSoft :Reduce the actual size of PDF files by compressing text and graphics. Compressed PDF files can be opened and viewed normally by all versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Version: PDF Compress 1
"It makes your PDF files larger!!"
Cons: Actually, I tested to compress several PDF files, large and small, and I found that this software is good in making your PDF files larger and not smaller!! Bjorn Lundahl, Gothenburg, Sweden

"Worst Compression Program Ever"
Pros: Its a quick download
Cons: I had a 23 meg PDF file I wanted to compress. Followed the easy to use options within the program and pressed "Compress" a blank PDF file of 840 bytes was created. Uninstalled and reinstalled and still same problem. Worst program ever. Don't download this program

Version: PDF Compress 1
Pros: It's free.
Cons: This program does the opposite of its advertised purpose.
I was running a comparison with another free pdf compressor on download.com to see which of the two were better at compressing pdfs created which contained: only OCR text (113 pages - 698 KB), OCR text and pictures (36 pages - 3,380 KB), and just scanned pictures (66 pages - 64,064 KB). In every instance, this program increased the file size when compared to the original. The OCR text became 710 KB; the OCR text and pictures became 3,384 KB; and just scanned pictures became 64,073 KB.
Granted, the increases are not that much, but it's still an increase and opposite of what should have happened. The program really deserves 0 out of 5 stars.

Version: PDF Compress 1
Pros: I like that it´s basically self explanitory and not that hard to figure out.
Cons: When you have a bunch of scanned documents in on PDF file it doesn´t really compress a lot even if you put maximum. But it´s ok i guess
