"an efficient and effective antivirus."
Pros: problem-free installation/uninstallation. good detection and removal capabilities. fast scanning abilities. resonable resource utilization. nice interface. i think after spyware doctor, pctools may have another winner in its hands.
i may be wrong, but i think it uses the kav scan engine/defs.

"Great virus database but I have some peevs"
Pros: Easy installation, easy to use and scan new files(provides right click option some programs lack). Excellent database and seems thorough even with on-guard. Definitely more comprehensive than AVG Free which I ended up discovering sasser worm on my own(too late to remove manually). Had to back things up and reformat. Which made my switch, I've had Norton and McAfee too and feel safer with this but now the cons...
Cons: Lacks certain features I consider basic like e-mail scanner as well as some customizations. Better have resources to run this as it is the biggest hog I ever seen with on-guard turned on. My 3.3 GHZ P4 HT showed significant memory usage and my AMD slowed way way down. Fine for the P4, I will renew for that as that's the computer that does tasks that are sometimes prone to give viruses.

"Slow to boot - won't run outside of Admin Account"
Pros: Protects your computer against viruses.
Cons: Takes 45 seconds to 2 minutes to load up on starting computer. Only protects the Admin account -- other accounts, it tries to load then shuts down, saying it can't be run outside the admin account. Not much good when Microsoft tells you never to run from the admin account.

"JUNK Note: Would have given NO stars if I could!!!"
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Downloaded 3 times. Each time starting program caused computer to lock. Could not uninstall because program was running. When fast enought to stop program from loading was not able to uninstall all, left junk behind. Downloaded from 2 different sites no help. Might be SP2 problem but do not wish to read reams of info on SP2 to find problem. Why can't help files just get to the point an be helpful? I should be paid $29.95 for my wasted time.
NO stars NO useful functions!!!
