Version: PC Tattletale Parental Control and Monitoring Software 7.9.286
"Good monitoring, but not a filter"
Pros: The application has comprehensive monitoring and tracking features including screen snapshots, key logging (including passwords), site tracking and keyword tracking. If you want to know what someone did on a PC after they did it, this is a pretty good package for doing it.
Cons: PC Tattletale is inadequate for blocking Web pages even though their documentation leads you to believe it can do this. Web sites with offending content is clearly displayed for many seconds before it forwards to the Microsoft Live website. To defeat this, simply hit the browser "back" button. It might change to the alternate site again a few times, but it eventually "gives up" and lets the user see the "blocked" Web site. Tech support gives the excuse that the application is monitoring software and not designed for filtering. So, I guess the appropriateness of the application depends on what you intend to use it for.
