There is quite a lot behind the curtain of this newsreader, but it suffers from poor design choices. Ozum's interface is just complex enough that a visit to the help file is mandatory. Advanced users will quickly pick up on basic functions, but many features are not readily apparent.
This application is much more than is needed to read basic text newsgroups. Its forte is image and file groups. Subscribing to groups is quick with the help of a wizard. However, reading long group names is difficult in the small dialog box. Side-to-side scrolling or font size options are not available, and you often have to hope you're selecting the correct newsgroup from the list.
On the upside, downloading files that are spread over numerous posts is greatly simplified with Ozum. Click any post, and the program checks to see if all pieces are available. If so, it quickly builds the image or assembles the binary. Ozum's advanced features include support for multiple news servers, display of all current images in a newsgroup, and a rare Usenet search across groups. Novice users will find this program's Usenet terms and procedures perplexing, but advanced users will quickly discover its flexibility and powerful features.

* did I say EASY TO USE! and FAST!!!Cons: None that I can think of. Great bargin!
Summary: This is the best news reader I have used. It's great for downloading the news you want to read. It is great for multi streaming messages. It is easy to tell what you want and don't. As far as the new version 5 it's amazing with Yenc!
