Outlook Express Backup Factory, an e-mail backup and restoration utility, backs up your e-mail data from an e-mail client and easily restores them whenever necessary. Outlook Express Backup Factory is not just a backup utility but also a synchronization tool. You can easily back up and restore your messages, address book, settings, mail and news accounts, message rules, blocked senders lists, signatures and even your IE favorites. Version 2.8.1 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Contrary to what its name suggests, Outlook Express Backup Factory backs up data from several e-mail clients, but both the Restore and Backup Schedule features failed to work during testing.

Aside from Outlook Express, this program supports other popular e-mail clients such as Microsoft Outlook, Eudora, and IncrediMail, and goes a little bit further by also backing up Internet Explorer bookmarks. Outlook Express Backup Factory has a tabbed, functional interface that is easy enough to operate. It quickly archived account settings, mail folders, signatures, message rules, stationery, and the address book. Unfortunately, the option to store backup files in a network file or on CD/DVD isn't available.

You'll be able to create a single-volume backup file, or you can opt to split them into user-specified volumes. Moreover, you can keep older versions of backup files or overwrite the latest archive.

Alas, while Outlook Express Backup Factory did well during the backup process, it failed to restore data. The Backup Schedule feature also failed to work during numerous tests. With the problems encountered, and a restrictive 15-day trial period, we can't recommend this software as an effective way to back up and restore e-mail data.

  Pros: Nothing...

  Cons: If they don't have the confidence in the product to list it with other products on their web site, how can a potential client have confidence in the product?
