Despite some unfortunate design miscues, this app handles its main job of organizing music collections. We weren't big fans of OrangeCD Suite's interface, which is cluttered with too many buttons. However, the program does make it easy to import CD information, connecting to several online databases, including Amazon.com, to automatically download data. If you want, you can enter info such as lyrics and notes yourself. You can create or edit databases and export them to the HTML format as a hyperlinked catalog or a tree organized by any combination of recording-related fields. The application displays statistics about your media collection and performs both simple save-enabled text searches and queries. You'll also find a primitive media player, but since it lacks even the most basic controls--including a Stop button--we don't consider it much of a benefit. This app will be useful to music junkies with enough patience to learn their way around the somewhat confusing interface.Publisher's description
From Racks and Tags :OrangeCD Catalog is the comprehensive music database program for cataloging music in any format: CD, DVD, MP3, iTunes, OGG, FLAC, WMA and other lossless files, and even old LPs and tapes. It can manage classical music collections as well as pop music. To add a new CD to the database, you just need to insert it in your computer or scan barcode from jewel case, and OrangeCD will download all information from FreeDB and Amazon databases, including cover artwork and album reviews. You can organize music bookmarks, keep track of borrowed albums using loan manager, and store artist and composer biographies, discographies, links and notes. The resulting database can be used for browsing, searching, printing or publishing on the Web.
