Protect your children against harmful Web sites with this extremely powerful parental-filter application.
Optenet Web Filter PC, now Vista compatible, places an icon in the system tray to open your Internet browser and loads a neatly designed password-protected interface. You can create multiple profiles and select from the filter categories the types of Web sites to block, including but not limited to Gambling, Drugs, Games, Hackers, Porn. The application successfully blocked sites containing information within our filtered selections during testing. You can also restrict the use of P2P applications for file sharing, instant messengers, and e-mail and view a navigation log report.
Using the Contribution button, Optenet Web Filter lets you submit Web sites for possible inclusion on its restricted list. Parents and guardians can rest easy while kids surf the Web freely using this 14-day trial application.

Version: Optenet PC Parental Control Software 9.4.1
Pros: Well, we all know kids love to use the computer for chatting and playing games, and sometimes your child may stumble upon a site that looks good yet it may have porn or drugs. This program blocks 99.9% of those sites and deserves 10 stars!
Cons: It doesnt block 0.01% of the bad sites...(sarcasm)

Pros: Blocks Websites you specify and some ads.
Cons: After your trial is up, it totally blocks your internet access until you buy it. I have never seen a company block your internet to get you to buy. You can disable the filter though and your internet works again. Also, I searched in my Add and Remove Programs folder and found NOTHING under OPTENET! I tried going into my C: Drive (hard disk) to delete the file and everything, but guess what! It told me access was denied! I do not wish to buy the software, and cannot uninstall it!

"This may be a good web filter, but..."
Pros: It seems to do the job for which it is designed. But I have major reservations when it comes to recommending it.
Cons: I wouldn't recommend installing it on a computer that is required to use the Internet (or Local Area Network) for business related applications, especially if your business depends on the Internet or use of your LAN. Reason: it locks-up tight when the trial period is over, not only locking-out Internet access, but access by the computer to a Local Area Network (and, I presume does the same when your purchased license expires) and may not let you uninstall it without expert help.
Yes, you can still play freecell on your computer and do most other things, but network stuff is out!
When I installed it, Windows (or some program run under Windows) apparently munched a file called "Config.conf", making it impossible to re-gain access to use of the browser without much fussing with the registry and using a program that deletes recalcitrant files during re-boot. Even then, I had to re-install the program before I was able to enter the code the company gave me to allow me access to the un-install procedure.
Perhaps, when the company wakes-up and fixes what is a major problem by changing the manner in which they terminate the use of the program for un-paid customers, and makes it a little more civilized, I would consider using it. As it is, it can bring your profitable business to a standstill and cost you a lot of potential income while you pursue a solution.

"I ended up not using this software but great software"
Pros: It blocked everything I wanted. and the customer service was excellent! they were very helpfull.
Cons: I had hard time removing the program from my PC. I had to email the company to obtain the key to remove the software.
If you come accross this problem using uninstall command or windows add/remove software command. Try to ask for assistance.

"Want to protect your children, this is your choice."
Pros: Internet nowaday is full of harmful information. You may need an product like this thing to protect your children from the bad. It has all feature you need and easy to use.
