The premise of Opera has always been the same--develop the fastest, smallest, and most full-featured browser available--and the latest version maintains the tradition. Opera has all the basics covered, including tabbed browsing with an added functionality that lets you hover over a tab to preview a page; a search bar with Google and several other popular portals; advanced bookmarking tools, including one that lets you easily import from any popular browser; and simple integration with your favorite e-mail and chat clients. Mouse-gesture support, keyboard shortcuts, and drag-and-drop functionality further enhance your surfing experience.
With solid basics, Opera's extra features push it to the top of the class. Integrated theme support lets you preview and download themes from within the interface so you know what you're getting before you download. Widgets (akin to Mac OS X dashboard applications) are small, useful programs that appear in a window from any app while Opera is running. The Wand utility helps you autofill online forms and lets you securely save passwords for multiple sites. We really like the addition of BitTorrent support, letting you drop a Torrent link into the address bar and begin a file transfer immediately without the need for an extra app. Overall, we think Opera might have what it takes to unseat even the biggest-name browsers if users give it the opportunity. Opera is a must-download for those looking for a full-featured browser with added extras.

Version: Opera 9.27
"Fast, rare features, a few clunky quirks."
Pros: Much faster than Safari or Firefox. Sometimes Safari and Firefox won't load pages or will take a minute or more for whatever reason, Opera loads them and loads them fast. When expanding some web pages in most browsers, the text gets big, but the pictures stay small and the text will overlap the pictures. In Opera, the entire page is simply magnified. Beautiful. This allows those with large screens to have the benefit of a large screen, sit back and read. I haven't explored all the options available yet, there seems to be quite a few of them.
Cons: You cannot set reasonable preferences! ...or how you do is cleverly hidden. As I said you can enlarge the whole page for easy sit back viewing on a large screen. But you can't set the zoom in the preferences, you have to do it again and again.
When clicking on a link and opening in a new tab, you are FORCED to go to the new tab. You cannot continue reading as you open tabs in the background. Very annoying as I like to finish reading an article before exploring the embedded links.
The interface is different. It will take some getting used to. There seems to be quite a few customizable assets, but you will need a large screen to use more than the minimum of them.

Version: Opera 9.27
"It has a learning curve, but given time, does it all"
Pros: I was using Firefox, Thunderbird, NewsGator & Feedburner as well as UTorrent and MiRC. Now I am using Opera 9.27.
Instead of overloading my system with six memory hogging programs, I get everything I need in this one. This is because I have taken the time to read the Help file and Googled to forums and other pages where each of this intricate program features are well documented. I call it a program and not a browser, because a â??browserâ?? covers only a portion of its usefullness.
Cons: I donâ??t like that people feel the need to call it clunky because it doesnâ??t hold your hand or spoon feed you each of its features. The documentation calls back to the retranslated instructions on how to put together a bicycle on Christmas Eve. It took some independent research to discover what is truly a one stop online use interface.
