The premise of Opera has always been the same--develop the fastest, smallest, and most full-featured browser available--and the latest version maintains the tradition. Opera has all the basics covered, including tabbed browsing with mouse-over preview, a search bar, advanced bookmarking tools, and simple integration with your favorite e-mail and chat clients. Mouse-gesture support, keyboard shortcuts, and drag-and-drop functionality further enhance your surfing experience.
With solid basics, Opera's extra features push it to the top of the class. Integrated theme support lets you preview themes from within the interface so you know what you're getting before you download. Widgets (akin to Mac OS X dashboard applications) are small, useful programs that appear in a window from any app while Opera is running. The Wand utility combines autofill with saved passwords. We really like the addition of torrent support and real-time fraud protection for safer browsing.
A new feature in version 9.2, Speed Dial, permanently assigns bookmarks and tabs any digit from one through nine. When you enter one of those numbers into the URL bar, the corresponding site loads when you hit enter. Overall, we think Opera might have what it takes to unseat even the biggest-name browsers if users give it the opportunity. Opera is a must-download for those looking for a full-featured browser with added extras.

Version: Opera 9.26
Pros: it has some good features. it's fast for a while. speed dial is great but firefox has it too. seems secure
Cons: it's still not all there yet. i've also noticed the longer my session is the slower it gets. the skins aren't all that impressive, mainly the buttons. looks like the same person redoes all the skin buttons, looks terrible. hangs a lot on vista. i'll mess with it some more, but i highly doubt if i ever use it.

Version: Opera 9.26
"Faster and has more features than IE and Firefox"
Pros: It uses a lot less memory than firefox. It starts up faster, loads sites faster. Easy password management. You can integrate ANY search engine in it. In fact it has most of the features you can ever think of
Cons: It conflicts with quicktime sometimes. No spell check.

Version: Opera 9.26
"Good, but not quite good enough!"
Pros: Nice browser which is v fast on page loading. Also, the speed dial function is great. Definitely good enough to be a secondary browser. Haven't yet come across any of the incompatibility issues mentioned elsewhere.
Cons: Not as customizable as Firefox, which is why I don't use it as my default browser. Also, the widgets (add-ons & extensions in Firefox) just don't seem to enhance it in terms of security or functionality. More like toys than tools. Athough, on start up, page loading is more than quick enough, as session time lengthens & number of pages viewed increases, it seems to slow noticeably.

Version: Opera 9.26
Pros: After using Firefox 1 and 2, than mixing in some IE&7. I decided to try Opera, said it had nothing to offer an uninstalled it. A few weeks later at getting made at long page loads for IE7 and Firefox2 (with extensions installed to make pages load faster, ie fastfox) I wanted to try Opera again for speed and security. I have now officially wiped my PC clean of Firefox and IE7 is installed as a back-up. (I do keep a Firefox2 install file on my PC just in case).
I love the speed, not only page loads, but for the browser to load. It loads just as fast as IE7, within seconds of telling it to load, much better than the 10 seconds I wait for Firefox2, even with the Firefox Preloader. Page loads are faster than either IE7 or Firefox2.
Speed-dial is a great tool.
Page loading speeds are phenominal. Have only had a few sites that take a lil longer.
User created skins are growing in number, and make it look much more appealing.
I love the password wand and the widgets.
Many built in features require you to download extensions in firefox, increasing the load time for firefox, yet they dont increase opera load time.
Dosent tie up system resources
The most secure browser out there.
Cons: I wish over developers would start making stuff compatible, like McAfee Site-Advisor or Silverlight. I could care less about toolbars.
If a page is loading, which dosent take that long, but when it is loading, it covers the address bar with loading info, and sometimes wont let you type a different address in (like if i mistype an addresss and dont realize it until after I hit enter, and want to change it right away).
Open in new tab, takes you to the new tab. Maybe I dont like it cause IE7 and Ff2 didnt do that. You can open in new background tab that wont take you to the new tab though.
