CNET Editors' review
The premise of Opera has always been the same--develop the fastest, smallest, and most full-featured browser available--and the latest version maintains the tradition. Opera has all the basics covered, including tabbed browsing with mouse-over preview, a search bar, advanced bookmarking tools, and simple integration with your favorite e-mail and chat clients. Mouse-gesture support, keyboard shortcuts, and drag-and-drop functionality further enhance your surfing experience.
With solid basics, Opera's extra features push it to the top of the class. Integrated theme support lets you preview themes from within the interface so you know what you're getting before you download. Widgets (akin to Mac OS X dashboard applications) are small, useful programs that appear in a window from any app while Opera is running. The Wand utility combines autofill with saved passwords. We really like the addition of torrent support and real-time fraud protection for safer browsing.
A new feature in version 9.2, Speed Dial, permanently assigns bookmarks and tabs any digit from one through nine. When you enter one of those numbers into the URL bar, the corresponding site loads when you hit enter. Overall, we think Opera might have what it takes to unseat even the biggest-name browsers if users give it the opportunity. Opera is a must-download for those looking for a full-featured browser with added extras.

"Opera is the bees knees of them all."
Version: Opera 9.23
Pros
Opera is a vast improvement on all the others. Not only do you have tabbed browsing, you also have a very handy speed dial, on which you store your favourite sites, simply open a new tab, and go back for all your saved sites.
It is also a lot faster than the likes of Avant, top ratings for this one. Opera, I feel a song coming on, and it is not like me to be happy!

"If you haven't tried Opera lately..."
Version: Opera 9.23
Pros
I was pleased to see that cnet managed to free themselves from the "the-only-alternative-browser-is-Firefox" mentality to give a positive review here of what is, in my opinion, the best browser out there.
First thing to know: Opera is now completely free and completely add-free. If you see information indicating that it is not, that information is outdated.
Second thing to know: Opera's rendering engine is now second to none. Page display problems were a reality in pre 7 versions, but I've been using Opera since version 8, and I have no more page display errors than I had using other browsers. (the bigger message with this second point is that ALL browsers will occasionally run into a badly done website that can't be displayed correctly; this is due to bad HTML markup/coding and is virtually never the fault of the browser)
Third thing to know: Good heavens! if you haven't tried Opera lately, you don't know what you're missing: Fast (and customizable!) rendering, excellent security, truly useful features and on and on, all in a small, light and tight package. But the two characteristics of Opera that make me love it so are 1) its speed when browsing and 2) the amazing things you can do to customize the browser to your tastes, habits and needs.
Cons
In my opinion there are no "cons", but that doesn't mean that there is not room for improvement. As I mentioned above, the ability to customize Opera is virtually without end. However, sometimes how to accomplish what you want to do is not obvious and you'll need to go looking for the information in the Opera forums, Opera help or at the Opera browser wiki. But I'm talking about "Power" user modifications; the basics are right there where the should be and are easy to understand. Opera is very "beginner friendly"!
With that said, it is important to understand that Opera IS NOT Firefox nor Internet Explorer. What I mean is that you will have to learn a few new things and possibly change a few habits when you come over to Opera, but the (tiny) learning curve is well worth the effort.

"Great Widgets"
Version: Opera 9.23
Pros
The interface is clean and simple, and adding a few widgets is extremely satisfying. I'll continue to use this along with Explorer. i really liked the speed dial feature, but I was only able to use this feature the first time I used the program. Where did it go!

"Most innovative and versatile browser, still easy to use"
Version: Opera 9.23
Pros
great browser that has every feature I can think of/need, and has had every feature first (compared to IE/Firefox/Safari)
The most useful ones for me are:
- mouse gestures (makes browsing faster than with any other browser)
- tabbed browsing
- full keyboard support for nearly every function
- search function
- really working print preview
Cons
- no graphics printout when printing marked areas
- Some pages don't load (though you can select "mask as internet explorer/firefox" for each page separtely -> most of them work and display correct)
-
"To complex"
Version: Opera 9.23
Pros
It looks good
Cons
It is to complex it take a long time to figure it all out how it works
there are to many features build in so that makes it hard and to complex
keep it simple and straight forward
-
