CNET Editors' review
The premise of Opera has always been the same--develop the fastest, smallest, and most full-featured browser available--and the latest version maintains the tradition. Opera has all the basics covered, including tabbed browsing with mouse-over preview, a search bar, advanced bookmarking tools, and simple integration with your favorite e-mail and chat clients. Mouse-gesture support, keyboard shortcuts, and drag-and-drop functionality further enhance your surfing experience.
With solid basics, Opera's extra features push it to the top of the class. Integrated theme support lets you preview themes from within the interface so you know what you're getting before you download. Widgets (akin to Mac OS X dashboard applications) are small, useful programs that appear in a window from any app while Opera is running. The Wand utility combines autofill with saved passwords. We really like the addition of torrent support and real-time fraud protection for safer browsing.
A new feature in version 9.2, Speed Dial, permanently assigns bookmarks and tabs any digit from one through nine. When you enter one of those numbers into the URL bar, the corresponding site loads when you hit enter. Overall, we think Opera might have what it takes to unseat even the biggest-name browsers if users give it the opportunity. Opera is a must-download for those looking for a full-featured browser with added extras.

"Not as fast as FireFox but better than IE."
Version: Opera 9.2
Pros
The tab mix is nice.
Cons
Cheesy interface, inability to change layout, etc.
-
"Better than all other browsers..."
Version: Opera 9.2
Pros
Opera is as fast as Mozilla Firefox. It is very easy to use and configure Opera. Opera is a much more lightweight than Firefox. Its launch speed is as high as IE7, which is Windows's own browser. But Firefox starts slower than Opera, when it is full of add-ons, which may cause some problems. Opera has a variety of INTEGRATED features, including mouse gestures, page-view styles, page scaling (like IE7). In addition, Opera never ends with an error-report message like Firefox or IE7 sometimes does.
Opera is the best web browser (and an e-mail program like Outlook). I can say this because I have been testing both three browsers (IE7, Firefox, and Opera) for a few months.
Cons
Opera has MINOR compatibility issues like Firefox in some pages and I would like Opera to be able to switch an IE-based display engine in that pages, like Netscape does.

"Opera smokes away all the other browsers!"
Version: Opera 9.2
Pros
Opera is always my default browser! The fastest, most secure browser on the planet. Firefox and IE can only wish they were more like Opera.
-
"Solid, but..."
Version: Opera 9.2
Pros
The speed dial app. is good, and tabbed browsing makes it comparable to firefox and the new ie 7.
Cons
Many websites do not work well with this browser as they do with the more popular firefox and internet explorer.

"Fast, Simple,...Beautiful..."
Version: Opera 9.2
Pros
I love that It's very fast, It uses less crappy, useless features witch cause a lot of other browsers to be much slower.
Cons
The image loader isn't quite the best, I noticed that Firefox seems to load Images faster but it doesn't load the document as fast.

"Who would have thought Opera could get even better"
Version: Opera 9.2
Pros
On top of being one of the fastest, feature rich and most secure browsers in the world, Opera has added even more! FraudProtection, Speed Dial, and Developer Console, which includes new tools, such as DOM inspector, JavaScript inspector, CSS editor and HTTP header inspector. Opera is my all time favorite browser. I was using it long before it was a free product. I loved it then, and I love it more, now. If you don't have Opera on your computer, you are missing the boat, Big Time! I rate Opera 5 stars and two thumbs up!!!

"Wish I had installed this a long time ago!"
Version: Opera 9.2
Pros
Faster, Lots of extra features that really enhance the UI, so far no crashes as IE was prone to do.
Cons
Minor issue, was easier to change font size in IE, just need to adjust to Operas way of doing it, also where is the homepage icon?
-
"quick"
Version: Opera 9.2
Pros
clean and fast
Cons
My mini control stick on my notebook to pan pages does not work. Although the arrow keys perform the same task. It is just easier to use the stick if my finger is already on the pointing device pad.
-
"Great Browser ~~ Fast"
Version: Opera 9.2
Pros

Cons
It is hard to set up e-mail with AOL IMAP, at least for this user. ( IMAP ~using Opera Mail.)
-
"Simple, smooth and fast web surfing."
Version: Opera 9.2
Pros
Loading speed, tabbed browsing, customizable features (skins, speed dial, mouse gestures)...
Cross-platform (Mac OS, Win, Linux and even smart phones)!
Cons
Some compatibility issues in some websites... hope this will change in newer versions.
