The premise of Opera has always been the same--develop the fastest, smallest, and most full-featured browser available--and the latest version maintains the tradition. Opera has all the basics covered, including tabbed browsing with an added functionality that lets you hover over a tab to preview a page; a search bar with Google and several other popular portals; advanced bookmarking tools, including one that lets you easily import from any popular browser; and simple integration with your favorite e-mail and chat clients. Mouse-gesture support, keyboard shortcuts, and drag-and-drop functionality further enhance your surfing experience.
With solid basics, Opera's extra features push it to the top of the class. Integrated theme support lets you preview and download themes from within the interface so you know what you're getting before you download. Widgets (akin to Mac OS X dashboard applications) are small, useful programs that appear in a window from any app while Opera is running. The Wand utility helps you autofill online forms and lets you securely save passwords for multiple sites. We really like the addition of BitTorrent support, letting you drop a Torrent link into the address bar and begin a file transfer immediately without the need for an extra app. Overall, we think Opera might have what it takes to unseat even the biggest-name browsers if users give it the opportunity. Opera is a must-download for those looking for a full-featured browser with added extras.

Version: Opera 9.1
"Terrific Browser for Mac as well as Windows."
Pros: I used to have Opera as my first browser on my Windows laptop and after switching to a macbook I just had to have it again. Using it confirmed what I basically already knew:
Opera is the best you can get in the browser department. It is quick, has nice options like rss, mail, bittorrent, mouse gestures, password management etc.
I have tried Firefox, Avant, Netscape and of course Safari (plus IE6&7 on Windows), but Opera is way ahead of all the others.
Cons: Opera seems to have compatibility issues with some (1 in 100 probably) sites.

Version: Opera 9.1
Pros: For some reason it is the only mac os x browser on which I am able to use some kinds of online software for the data entry work I do.
Cons: However, the program drives me crazy. It doesn't seem to be faster than Camino, and the design appears a lot more cluttered and nowhere near as streamlined as other browsers. Also, when I use it for my work it shuts itself down at least once per hour. I don't run anything crazy in the background, nor do I use it do do anything fancy. I would love to know what on Earth causes it to act the way it does. Also, while browsing other internet pages I find it to be a lot less smooth in loading and scrolling. I hope it worked better for you than for me...
