The premise of Opera has always been the same: Develop the fastest, smallest, and most full-featured browser available. Opera maintains the tradition with its latest version. Offering unprecedented speed and low memory usage, Opera is still embarrassing the big browsers by loading most Web pages in a fraction of the time they use.
In addition to fine-tuning speed and performance, the browser includes support for bidirectional languages such as Arabic and Hebrew, a slide-show feature for Web-based photos, and an option that allows users of the free, ad-sponsored version to receive either text-based ads served by Google or generic graphical ads. Other features sweeten the deal, such as spatial navigation, a built-in e-mail client with spam parameters, and IRC chat support. As always, Opera continues to offer good-quality encryption and other security measures.
Although Opera's default interface wastes space with redundant tools that visually overpower the browser window, it is wholly customizable. Skins let you change the browser's look to suit your preferences. Anyone looking at alternate browsers should definitely check out Opera.

Version: Opera 9
"A brilliant, highly responsive browser with excellent functions."
Pros: Opera compared to the other front runner, Firefox, Opera has it's own originality. First of all, the forward and back buttons are the fastest that I have ever experienced with a browser. The mouse functions are fantasic. That alone saves so much time. The ability to block all third party cookies is a great function that all browsers should have but this one is very effective. The skins that are available are great and the overall speed, performance and appearance are 5 stars. I use this browser when I am doing generally surfing because some websites (of course) don't render properly. Rather than compare this browser with all the others that are available, I will just tell you that this one is appears to be in a class of its own, just like Firefox and Avant. Each one has it's own niche. Opera is secure and fast, that's as much as one can ask for but Opera continues to add more functions and stability to every new release. You should definitely try this browser, you won't be able to get rid of it because like I said, this browser will fill its own niche and your particular needs.
Cons: I wish it would work with all sites!!!!

Version: Opera 9
"Very strong performer, especially when handling web pages...."
Pros: I've tried this one before and I like it a whole lot better without the adds which made it look ugly and cumbersome. Unlike K-Meleon it has no trouble with active x codes, and handled this website and my own homepage with no problem(something that ff can't manage to do though it may be through no fault of it's own), and doesn't appear to be a resource or memory hog.
Cons: Right now I can't think of any. Doesn't appear to be major source of spyware or cookies though it's always good to scan regularly no matter what browser you use.

Version: Opera 9
Pros: It exists between Firefox, and Mozilla. But best of all it is like a browser with a new skin! Very fast, possibly the fastest browser on earth. There are only 3 unique browsers.
