The premise of Opera has always been the same: Develop the fastest, smallest, and most full-featured browser available. Opera maintains the tradition with its latest version. Offering unprecedented speed and low memory usage, Opera is still embarrassing the big browsers by loading most Web pages in a fraction of the time they use.
In addition to fine-tuning speed and performance, the browser includes support for bidirectional languages such as Arabic and Hebrew, a slide-show feature for Web-based photos, and an option that allows users of the free, ad-sponsored version to receive either text-based ads served by Google or generic graphical ads. Other features sweeten the deal, such as spatial navigation, a built-in e-mail client with spam parameters, and IRC chat support. As always, Opera continues to offer good-quality encryption and other security measures.
Although Opera's default interface wastes space with redundant tools that visually overpower the browser window, it is wholly customizable. Skins let you change the browser's look to suit your preferences. Anyone looking at alternate browsers should check out Opera, the leader of the pack.
Publisher's description
From Opera Software :Opera is an Internet browser with a pop-up blocker, multiple-window navigation, mouse gestures, keyboard shortcuts, an e-mail client with a spam filter, and integrated search for user security and speed. The cross-platform browser includes a multitude of other functions, such as IRC-compatible chat, support for RSS newsfeeds, a password manager, and one-click customization and privacy-protection settings. Mouse gestures and keyboard shortcuts allow for accelerated Web navigation while the Fast Forward and Rewind buttons ease browsing. Users can run multiple windows as well as personalize the user interface with one-click skins. The browser also contains special elements for users with disabilities, drag-and-drop support, a notes function, user profiles, and a host of other features. Opera supports the latest in security and provides password and cookie managers.

Version: Opera 8.0
"The best ever, Pop-block, no auto-infect like IE, 100% customizable"
Pros: FREE, you can custumize almost ANYTHING you like in the browser! Yes, buttuns, colors, special efects, address bar in the bottom, personalbar, tabs bar.
Lots of skins with colorfull or just "simple-advanced-user-like"!
Plus, you got BLOCK UNWANTED POPUPS, this means, it will not block when YOU choose to click on a link that opens in popups, just that boring Ads and thinks like that!
But if you want to, you can choose to block all, or none, or open popups in background. You can use it to check mail also.
Limit number of visited websites to remember, also number of typed(is not the same thing!) sites.
Perfect, Opera DOESN'T GET ANY SPYWARE.ADAWARE,TROJAN, WORM or any of the kind, like Internet Explorer.
You dont need to make those "critical update" every week! Because opera is SAFE.
Opera works on Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP
Linux, FreeBSD i386, MacOS, Solaris, OS/2 and much more... (It has also a very popular Mobile version)
You can download as MANY languages as you want:
Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese Simplified,
Chinese Traditional, Danish, Dutch, English (UK), English (US), Finnish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese,
Korean, Norwegian (nynorsk), Norwegian (bokmıl), Polish, Portuguese, Brasilian,
Russian, Spanish (Latin America), Spanish (Spain), Swedish, Turkish.
Cons: The little banner on the top

Version: Opera 8.0
Pros: It is still not as fast as Firefox or Slim Browser, but it's almost there. I wish it could make some sort of deal with Microsoft, so I could get to sights such as Yahoo Music,(LaunchCast) when I use Opera for my surfing. I noticed the new Netscape 8.0 Betta is now compatible with about 95% of Microsoft sights. So, keep trying,Opera, and you will be up there with the big three, soon.
Cons: Ads, unless you purchase.

Version: Opera 8.0
Pros: 1. skinnable
2. fast (as fast as firefox)
3. secure
4. tabbed browsing and many good inhancements for it
Cons: Opera can be a bit confusing for first time users and takes some time to learn the functions of some things and where some features are located.
I recommend this browser to people who do not want to download extra extensions for extra features. In firefox, you must download your own extensions but there are more features to choose from.

Version: Opera 8.0
Pros: I love Opera!! It's faster than ANY browser! Fastest in the world! It has oodles of features, and now it even has voice libraries! You can browse by voice! Oper's the best! It still has the gorgeous and fully skinnable interface! And it's very secure! There are oodles of features in Opera 8! Now it has a place for closed tabs! So that if you accidentally close an important tab, you don't have to worry! And to the people that complained about Opera's *busy* interface in any version, you can fully customize Opera's interface to your needs! You can hide the 'Panels', the Status bar, or any kind of toolbar that you would want to hide! And if you want a browsing window that provides space close to full screen but not full screen, just drag the browsing tab to Opera's title bar and look at the huge browsing space! Opera has been by far the best browser that I have ever seen! And it's COMPLETELY customizable, too! You can customize ALL aspects of the browser! Font of the e-mail, browser identification, etc., it's gorgeous!! And for the ones who bought Opera 7, just install over the previous version and the AD banner will be gone! Get Opera 8 NOW!!
NOTE: To goldengreeke, I don't know what you're saying but Opera is the fastest! Maybe your PC has gone berserk! Haha, LOL!
Cons: The AD banner in the free version, but hey; it doesn't install malware! And it doesn't even come close to affecting your browsing experience! No, it doesn't slow your browsing! No, it doesn't install malware! And the other fault is that not all pages support it, but those faults aren't enough to make Opera a bad browser! Get Opera!
