Publisher's Description
From Omega Charting Services:
OmegaChart 4.0 is a flowchart generator. This package converts source codes to their flowchart equivalence. The generated flowchart is viewable through Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Internet Explorer or Microsoft Visio. The package supports languages written in Fortran 77, 90 and 95 fixed form; Fortran 90 and 95 free form; Visual Basic family of languages (VBA, VB6, VB.Net & VBScript); Matlab scripting language. OmegaChart 4.0 is a useful tool to untangle behind-the-scenes programming logic in a messy spaghetti code and therefore generate visual documentation of the execution route. While other analysis tools only provide you 'assembly level' info such as calling trees or variables cross referencing, OmegaChart provides detailed 'module level' logic such as loops, if-elseif-endif constructs and select-case constructs. Version 4.0 is a bug fixing release.

"A bargain!"
Version: OmegaChart 3.1
Pros
OmegaChart Lite is a real deal, well worth the price. It sorts out old Fortran code into a neatly drawn, brightly colored flow chart that shows the flow of the program very well. Output is best printed on a roll plotter, but this is no fault of OmegaChart.
Cons
It would help to color the subroutine calls and to print comments in full.

"The best flowchart software for legacy fortran codes"
Version: OmegaChart 3.1
Pros
Simply put, if you are a numerical engineer using Fortran legacy research codes. It can save you months or years of headache.
1) The detailed flow chart speaks for itself;
2) The part I like the most is the math module that can translate statement into a "two-dimensional" math formula. Thus it's MUCH EASIER to figure out the algorithm behind the code.
Cons
1) Printing of the flowchart is difficult. Better you got to read the chart on your computer screen. However, it doesn't do much harm. Since on IE window, you can zoom in/out and move the chart around freely. So, why bother to print? This limitation is also well explained in the user manual.
2)For long, awkward legacy Fortran code, it may take a while to generate the chart. In the windows task manager, it shows the application omegachart is "not responding". Trust me, it IS nicely running, and will generate a chart after a while. Please don't end this application before it finishes.

"Quick and easy way to help understand complex Fortran code. Well worth it."
Version: OmegaChart 3.1
Pros
OmegaChart is quick and easy to install and use. I am using the Lite version to look at old Fortran code that is very convoluted, and the flowchart makes the logic easy to follow. This is a handy tool.
Cons
The Adobe SVG Viewer used to display the html flowchart has to be navigated using the Alt key with the mouse. I would prefer using a scroll bar or just the mouse.

"Very helpful in understanding complex Fortran 95 code, well worth the cost!"
Version: OmegaChart 3.1
Pros
I have found the program very helpful in understanding my code (and especially other's complex code). I should have gotten this years ago! I particularly find helpful the feature for IF statements which puts the true choice in line with the main code and the false branch out. This makes it easier to quickly
understand and navigate the code.
Cons
The difficulties I have stem from two things. First, I use Linux almost exclusively. Asisde from the obvious need to use windows for OmegaChart, viewing the resulting web-based output from OmegaChart with such web browsers as mozilla firefox has been buggy at best, and viewers such as Inkscape and Gimp do not work with the SVG files OmegaChart produces.
Second, There needs to be a better way to export the SVG images produced than cutting and pasting.
