This theme plug-in completely changes the look and feel of your Firefox interface, but the result is an interface that can be hard to read.
OldFactory Black lives up to its name by giving your Firefox interface the look and feel of an old factory. Gone are Firefox's colorful icons. The background resembles black steel, and screws and switches add to the factory look. All of Firefox's features can still be found in their same locations, but the icons are replaced with grayscale buttons that resemble their function. But there are also extra buttons and switches that don't do anything. Apparently, they're just for looks, but they end up cluttering the toolbar. The drop-down menus resemble slats, with each option listed on a single board. Like the toolbar, the result is a cluttered interface that is hard to read.
The idea is clever and clearly some thought went into how it would be executed, but at the same time, the interface needs to be easy to read. OldFactory Black is freeware, and anyone can use it. You'll have to be the judge of whether the design enhances or detracts from easy surfing.
OldFactory Black is the "black edition" of OldFactory. Available on the theme's homepage are also a matching Windows XP theme and following mods: OldFactory Silver, OldFactory Silver/Rust, OldFactory Black/Rust, and OldFactory Fancy.
