If Windows' defrag utility isn't getting the job done, check out O&O Defrag Professional Edition. It has one of the best feature sets in the market and did a good job defragmenting a large disk in our tests. Besides being efficient, O&O Defrag is inconspicuous. It can work in a resource-efficent stealth mode, on a schedule--at night, for instance, or during moments when your computer is idle. It offers several defragmentation methods, such as arranging files by name or by the date of last access. O&O Defrag is probably overkill for average PC users, but it's a solid choice for its target audience of home-office users.Publisher's description
From O&O Software :The new O&O Defrag 10 Professional Edition for Windows-based workstations unlocks your computer's hidden performance. By securely repacking your hard disk's fragmented data back together, the operation of your hard disks can be streamlined to run with lightning efficiency. O&O Defrag 10 Professional Edition offers an extremely simple user interface with a multitude of important functions you won't find with other defragmentation software. Fragmentation is the main cause of significant performance losses in Windows. Due to the fact that the hard disk is the slowest component of a computer, its optimization is an especially important issue. By using O&O Defrag 10, files can be read and written much more quickly. The O&O OneButtonDefrag Technology lets you sit back and relax while the optimal defragmentation configuration is tailored directly to your system. A job is created and then executed, making performance improvements on your system faster than ever.

Version: O&O Defrag Professional Edition 11.0.3265
Pros: The interface looks better than windows defragger with a lot more features one click can defrag all hard disk drives. Or a single hard disk drive can be selected for defragmentation.
Cons: I selected the C hard disk drive to defrag but it is too slow to finish defragmentation. O&O Defrag Professional Edition is no faster than windows defrag utility.

Version: O&O Defrag Professional Edition 11.0.3265
Pros: Fast, thorough, cool interface, great features, easy to install, easy to use, sits in background nicely.
Cons: Price is more than I would ever pay for defrag software.
Summary: My computer came with DiskKeeper home edition, and the pro version from O&O was able to do a much more thorough defrag. However, I wouldn't pay more than $20 for defrag software, and the incremental difference between the one that came with my ... read more >>

Version: O&O Defrag Professional Edition 11.0.3265
"For once, I'm seriously impressed with a defrag app!"
Pros: Mines v11.0.3265 which is a little newer then this but I gotta say, I've never seen anything like this one in my life! I've tried them all in the last 2 years on Vista & none did the trick, NONE at all! See cons.
Cons: Free didn't cut it because AUS messed up my display window sizes. Smart Defrag trashed the system as did Perfect Disk ^& Diskeeper. O & O did a bang up job in a minute & hurt ZERO! But the drive was pretty clean to start with.
Summary: O&O did a bang up job in a minute & hurt ZERO! I liked it so much, I bought it after I ran it twice. scheduled it to run weekly. Simple & effective. Does all attached drives. Enough said! Just try it & see for yourself, but get the ... read more >>
