Publisher's description
From O&O Software :O&O Defrag solves performance and stability problems caused by fragmented hard disks. Repeated saving, modifying, and deleting splits files up into many tiny pieces that are then scattered all over the hard disk. This fragmentation is the main reason for serious performance losses when you're running Windows. Since the hard disk is in any case the slowest component of any system, it is particularly important to get it running smoothly. Defragmenting with O&O Defrag V6 rejoins the separate file fragments together and can also reorganize your files if you wish. In this way, files can be read and written much faster. Performance that you thought was lost forever will be reactivated comfortably and quickly by O&O Defrag--you can be sure that your hardware will carry on running at top performance. The newest technology means maximum efficiency at minimum cost.
Version 6.5.851 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Version: O&O Defrag Professional Edition 6.5.851
Pros: It's almost the same as Raxco's PerfectDisk. The interface are the same. It ranks the same as PerfectDisk. It defragments HDDs effectively, and makes it run faster. They also both have scheduling! What more can you look for? They [PerfectDisk and O&O Defrag] are great pieces of software!! They're STILL better than Diskeeper! Get them now!
Cons: It takes up too much memory when analyzing or defragging. So you can't seem to use the PC when defragging or else the PC will slow down to a hag.

Version: O&O Defrag Professional Edition 6.5.851
Pros: 1. Interface is the native Windows interface
2. Analysis statistics and details about your hard drive fragmentation is very detailed and easy to understand
3. Many types of fragmentation to fit your own needs
4. You can tell how much RAM O&O can take up so this program does not slow down your computer.
Cons: It is slower at defragmentation than Diskeeper but faster than Perfectdisk
This is not the newest version. O&O Defrag V8 is out!

Version: O&O Defrag Professional Edition 6.5.851
Pros: 5 defrag methods including 3 complete methids which physically rearrange files on the disk for faster access or lower fragmentation. It can work in the background and either use all system power or an Autosense feature, basically a command which tells it not to use any more system power than needed.
Cons: It dosent have an auto-update, nor a feature to defragment you paging file or unmovable files at bootup. There is a light glitch when using the complete methods sometimes where it will try to do something it cant, but itll just keep trying to do it anyway, so its easilly aborted so you can use another method. Other than that, no problems.

Version: O&O Defrag Professional Edition 6.5.851
Pros: Easy to use. Has several defrag modes, all very well documented so one can choose without risks the appropriate mode.
I like its scheduler, its interface and other features.
It is a defrag software I trust and like. I feel safe when using it. I highly recommend it.
Cons: At one point, after some Windows Update, the software stopped working. I wrote to O&O and they suggested downloading their latest version which I did and the program started working again. Because of this episode I suggest an update feature. Still this wasn't traumatic at all because their Tech Support replied rapidly.
By the way, I don't work for them, its just that I really like their software.
