From O&O Software :O&O Defrag V6 solves performance and stability problems caused by fragmented hard disks. Repeated saving, modifying, and deleting splits files up into many tiny pieces that are then scattered all over the hard disk. This fragmentation is the main reason for serious performance losses when you're running Windows. Since the hard disk is in any case the slowest component of any system, it is particularly important to get it running smoothly. Defragmenting with O&O Defrag V6 rejoins the separate file fragments together and can also reorganize your files if you wish. In this way, files can be read and written much faster. Performance that you thought was lost forever will be reactivated comfortably and quickly by O&O Defrag - you can be sure that your hardware will carry on running at top performance.
