Yet another freeware benchmark utility that adds nothing new to an already crowded field. NovaBench's simple text and button dialog quickly identifies how generic this program appears and runs. The program's saving grace is that the tests are completed in only a few minutes.
NovaBench actually performs a mere five tests. Floating Point Operations, Integer Operations, Strings Encrypted, Graphics Lines Test, and Graphics Circle tests are all measured per second. Each operation rates only a few words of explanation in the program's Help file. Scores have even less explanation. Each result is listed, but with no indication of expected values, norms, or other users' scores. A final Benchmark Score is listed, but with no indication of how it is computed. Interested users can compare Benchmark Scores online with just a button click. However, the short list of 11 systems includes little more than each system's CPU type, speed, and RAM installed.
NovaBench is freeware and simple to install, but with no knowledge of how the final Benchmark Score is figured the numbers are close to meaningless.

Version: NovaBench 2.0.32
Pros: I chose to downloand this software and upon initial installation.... eTrust PestPatrol immediately notified me that this needed to be quarentined. Needless to say, this item was not and never will be used by me.
