So you bought a used cell phone, only to find out it doesn't work with your network provider. Tragedy? Not necessarily. NokiaFree Unlock Codes Calculator may be able to bring that recalcitrant mobile around. While this ad-supported utility is primarily targeted at Nokia phones, in theory it lets you unlock other mobile devices as well. It all depends on whether yours appears on the program's sadly outdated lists of network providers and phone models. On the aesthetic side, the interface is full of ugly buttons, and the tray icon is primitive and clumsy. The feature set appears quite rich, though the interface uses several terms that might intimidate novice users. The installation process is very clean, fast, and transparent, and the program itself is quite stable. The annoying ad banner at the bottom of the screen doesn't inhibit the program's functionality. NokiaFree Unlock Codes Calculator is no slam dunk, but with patience and a bit of luck, it'll turn that inert lump of metal and plastic into a ringing, texting, calling machine.Publisher's Description

I trust CNET for my downloads and I am not sure that I will continue to do so.
First, the program did not work. Well, it did, except that the codes it produced did not work.
Second, and worse in my opinion, this download had a ton of crap that came with it. It installed a toolbar and all sorts of other things that took a ton of time to delete, uninstall.
When I tried to uninstall NokiaFree Calculator -- you will think that it is uninstalled (because that is what it tells you)... until it still shows up in your "start" menu and your program list.
Really disappointed with this. This is the first major dud that caused a lot of issue and virus checking afterwards. :(Summary

Pros
Basic and clean GUI which is ideal for beginners.Unlocks most older Nokia (DCT-3/4) and some other older mobile phones like LG, Siemens etc. Easy and straight forward to use.
Cons
Basic and very limited for advanced phone hackers and phone repairers.Its mainly for Nokia and hasn't got many other manufacturers to choose from.No good for newer phones.
Summary
I haven't downloaded this software so i don't know if other software is attached to this program.Read the installation directions as i have downloaded software from here which comes with toolbars and the like.However you are able to de-select these as you install your programs just read as you are clicking on next.

The installer installs the Babylon toolbar and changes your default browser start page even if you uncheck the boxes during the install process. I have to say I'm very disappointed that CNet would allow an installer like this on their website.
