Designed as an integrated Usenet reader for accessing a variety of file types, News File Grabber is easy to use and quick to master. It has a nicely designed, easy-on-the-eyes interface that's not cluttered with too many buttons and panes, as many newsreaders are. Setup is simple, and the app performs quickly and efficiently in the background, whether it's downloading text, video, audio, or photo files.
News File Grabber ran very quickly in our tests, even when downloading multiple threads and large media files. Specifying downloads to save and managing those files is very simple with News File Grabber, as is choosing and deleting groups, and making and forwarding posts. The nag screen that appears at the beginning of launch during the demo period is only a minor annoyance. Whether or not you're a novice, you'll find plenty to like with this user-friendly newsreader.
Publisher's description
From Rsbr-Software :News File Grabber is a specialized newsreader which lets you easily download and extract all kinds of attachments and binary files (like photos, movies, sound and other stuff) from the newsgroups on the USENET. You can filter articles by size, sender's address and so on, and you can specify what files are to be downloaded. There are many decoding schemes supported, including MIME, UUE, base64 and yENC (also multi-part files). You also can download and extract all binaries from a complete newsgroup in one go! The program combines automatically multi-part articles, but you also can combine them manually. It supports multiple servers and up to 20 simultaneous download threads. Now the program supports secure server connections (SSL), has built in specialized search functions, and you can download all parts of a multi-part article by simply double clicking any part.
In version 2.3 caching was improved and a sender blacklist was added. Additionally you can extract from EML-files stored on your hard disk.
