This powerful task scheduler assumes the burden of repetitive computer tasks, though the program name isn't indicative of the required user level. Newbie Task Manager's functional interface comes with a fairly comprehensive listing of actions to automate. These preloaded sample tasks cover routine operations such as starting and stopping programs, auto log-ons/log-offs, opening the CD-ROM, initiating system backups, and triggering e-mails and reminder messages. Events can be set up to run by a specific time or in the event of a specific action such as a hot key press or at system log-on. Advanced users can effortlessly create new tasks, schedule running times, define other action parameters, and password-protect staged events. Although inexperienced users can feel their ways around Newbie Task Manager, considering the preloaded tasks mentioned we think the program could benefit from a task-creation wizard to complement its Help file. Power users with programming expertise and cyclic system tasks will benefit the most from this effective application.Publisher's description
