In addition to high-speed browsing and instant-messaging capabilities, Netscape features one-click searching from the address bar; Quick Launch, which reduces the browser start-up time; Click-to-Search, which allows users to select a word within a Web page and search; improved instant messaging, including support for buddy icons, file transfers, and buddy alerts; and tabbed browsing, which allows users to view multiple Web pages in a single browser window.

Netscape 7.2 offers improved pop-up blocking and enhanced security. New features include extended address-bar searching, enhanced tabbed browsing, improved downloading, and new printing options.

Note: The Download Now link will download a small (288KB) installation file to your computer. Remain connected to the Internet and double-click the installation file to complete installation.

The new Netscape Navigator takes a Firefox foundation, some neat Sidebar innovations, and an inside track to the Netscape.com social-networking and news site to create a browser that has some great features with minimal wonkiness.

Netscape.com is a huge part of the new Navigator: some new features might not be of interest if you don't hang out there. The Share button inside the address bar connects you directly to Netscape.com. Highlight content from the page and hit Share. The content becomes a summary, in a box that just needs a few tags to be submitted to the collective. Already-posted articles show Vote and Discuss icons instead of Share.

Bookmarks and History are self-explanatory sidebars, but a series of Netscape.com-related ones work well, too. Netscape Friends' Activity shows you what your friends have been doing, Netscape Tracker tracks the latest site updates, and Netscape News tracks only news posts. Non-Netscape.com users--a small, rebellious group, no doubt--will appreciate the Mini-Browser sidebar, which is essentially two tabs opened simultaneously, and the Link Pad, a savable URL notepad. Drag-and-drop adds a URL, clicking on the saved link opens it in a new tab. This is one of Navigator's new tricks that we love, but wish had more traditional notepad functionality. All Sidebar features have toolbar icons that you can add at will.

Most of the bundled features from version 8 have been removed. IE mode, integrated AOL IM, RSS reader, form filler, and security suite are gone, but the compatibility with Firefox 2 extensions and LinkPad more than make up for the loss. The innovations here might make this more than a backup browser.

  "Net- exscape"

  Pros: Has nice features, i love the tabbed browsing but it's hard to get used to it loads way faster and more secure than IE but not as fast as avant or firefox. it's comes with full suit the internet service looks promising too..

  Cons: Too much stuff to look at. it can be intimidating (but the windows can be hidden) , needs a few improvements such as speed wise. if i had to choose a browser between the 2, Firefox would be my first choice.

  "Can't Believe Its An AOHell Product"

  Pros: LOVE the tabbed browsing! Plus the built-in pop-up blocking. Feautures Micro$haft should have put in their browser years ago. I've tried Mozilla, Firefox, Opera, MyIE2, Avant, Slimbrowser, and KMeleon. Netscape is still my favorite....I can't understand why anyone would ever want to use Internet Explorer after using Netscape....

  Cons: Skins are easier to find for Opera, Mozilla and Firefox. Could also do without the AOHell shortcuts it installs. Small price to pay, however, as far as I'm concerned.

  "I love it"

  Pros: I have IE, Firefox, Opera, Deepnet and Netscape and I don't how someone could say that one of these browsers, let's say, sucks. I love than all. Each one of them have qualities and none imperfections.Besides Netscape, IE and Mozilla have excellent versions in Portuguese. I'm Brazilian you know...

  "Better than IE"

  Pros: This browser is somewhat good but i think Mozilla Firefox is more stable and faster and more secure. And this is mostly a copy of firefox but firefox is way better

  Cons: slower than firefox.

  "This browser is not good"

  Pros: i got to say that they are some "good" stuff.

  Cons: I have try firefox, mozilla suite, and opera 8.0 ( my favorite), Netscape sucks, everything about is just stupid remix to what opera 8.0 and firefox can do but way better than netscape ever well. I cant understand why people will download this browser for, no not downlaod,

  SUCKs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
