CNET Editors' review
This application effectively restricts access to selected Web sites, although it did allow some offensive images to be displayed. NetPurity Free has a visually appealing, easy-to-comprehend interface. You can limit site access by specifying blocked and allowed URLs and filtering on offensive and sexually explicit keywords. The program includes nearly 100 sexually explicit keywords, although you can add or delete phrases. When inappropriate Web sites are encountered, the browser can display a page restriction message, show a blank screen, or open the site but log the act. The application, which you can password-protect, logs visits to restricted sites only and includes the reason the site was blocked. Unfortunately, the application has no power for filtering inappropriate images. Additionally, you'll have to endure a lengthy registration process to get access to the 15-day trial. Users who want to build roadblocks against unwanted sites will find NetPurity Free easy to use, but will stumble over its image filtering and download issues.Publisher's Description

"Hard to beat for free"
Version: NetPurity Free 6.1
Summary
I had some trouble with Tech Support for this program. It would run on my old computer, but didn't block anything. I spent days emailing back and forth (through an online form) and got no help. While trying to find another program to download, I read that it had to have the most current version of Exploer. Once I downloaded that, the program started working.
Overall the program seems to work, but I pretty much just installed it, and tested a couple of obvious sites, like adult.com. It didn't seem to slow down our adsl conection very much at all. -
