Designed to clean traces of your PC activities, NetEraser has an unreasonable trial restriction that makes it difficult to recommend. The tabbed interface makes choosing drives and folders to scan a simple process, and we like that the application integrates into Internet Explorer. The program quickly surveys your computer for Web-surfing traces from Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox, and Netscape, but the only function available in the demo is the ability to flush the browser cache. It also washes tracks from a few media players and toolbars, but again, the trial version disables these tools. Ostensibly, you can securely overwrite files as many times as you like, but NetEraser can't shred files or folders. The application will erase Windows traces and includes a feature for locating potentially pornographic tracks, but this latter feature is of questionable worth considering most other history cleaners get rid of all tracks without the need for distinction. This feature also produced some false positives, flagging a few mundane everyday images as pornography. The tools for removing duplicate and junk files are potentially useful, but once again, you can't test them without paying for them. The trial restrictions for NetEraser keep whatever promise the program shows well hidden.Publisher's description
From webpctools :NetEraser is an Internet and history eraser that protects your privacy by removing all your Internet tracks and computer activities, including your browser history, temporary Internet files, address-bar history, hidden Internet history files, the Internet cache, cookies, search-engine history, porn tracks, Window's Temporary folder, the Run and Search histories, and the Recent Documents, junk files, duplicate files, and invalid shortcuts. NetEraser will erase your tracks permanently, leaving no trace. It also will allow you to delete IE-visited URLs one by one, as well as the address-bar history and IE cookies.
Version 1.3 features improvements in scanning speed.

"Poor product -- Poor customer service"
Pros: The program did look at duplicate files.
Cons: I had difficulty getting the program to download properly as it is not compatible with Vista. Tech support expected me to be happy with using the Vista admin feature to open their program; however their program would not open the way they said
Summary: I purchased the product, disliked it, and within ONE day asked for a refund. The tech support would not accept anything I told them and went so far as to say they would require me to send snapshots of the error messages to "prove" that the program w... read more >>
